AS reporting Bale deal done for €91m - a bit less than many were expecting.

AS have been reporting Bale as a done deal all summer long.

Spurs store worker claims Vlad Chiriches will wear Number 6 (Tom Huddlestone's old number), Christian Eriksen 10 (Emmanuel Adebayor's old number) and Erik Lamela 11 (Gareth Bale's old number).

i don't understand why you don't want bale to go.

if he doesn't you're financially fucked.

That's really not true.

Spurs can afford to keep Bale, in addition to the summer signings we've made.

But I very much doubt that you will believe this.

Maybe because it'd just not true.

Re: The Tottenham Thread 13/14 part 2.

must not record losses of over £38m or so in the last three seasons...If Bale doesn't go, adding in the additional wages etc, I'd imagine you'll have need to have made a profit of over £40m+ in the last 3 seasons...

I'd piss myself if you came 3rd/4th and then got kicked out due to FFP. Unlikely to happen but it would be very amusing

Yes you can as long as "Your Sugar Daddy" keeps putting money it.

Total net spend for last three seasons for Spurs, not including Bale's sale: £51.75m
Man City's net spend for last three seasons: £145.55m
Man Utd's net spend for last three seasons: £91.65m
Chelsea's net spend for last three seasons: £192.4m
Liverpool' net spend for last three seasons: £71.45m

Only Arsenal (-£18m) have a lower net spend on players than Spurs out of top six teams. Given that Spurs still have several players (Assou Ekotto, Sigurdsson, Defoe, Adebayor) who could still move on before the window closes, Spurs' net spend could drop even further. Given Spurs' strict wage structure and the loss of several big earners (Gallas, Bentley, Dempsey, Parker), the overall wage bill wouldn't have seen much of an increase either, especially as Chichires, Chadli and Capoue are unlikely to be on massive money to begin with.

Add in the increased revenue from TV money, the increase in profit from two new shirt sponsors (HP and AIA) and the extra revenue that will have been brought in due to the expansion of Spurs' global brand, in the US and Asia in particular.

Apply a bit of research and logic together and it easily becomes apparent that Spurs really don't have to sell Bale to make ends meet. Spurs are already very comfortably within the FFP regulations and any football fan even remotely familiar with Daniel Levy should've already been aware that he's no fool when it comes to money.

But, you know, don't let all of that get in the way of your blind ignorance.

Re: The Tottenham Thread 13/14 part 2.

Spurs Academy went 3 goals behind at Blackburn Rovers in the U18 Premier League this morning, but then scored five goals to maintain their 100% start to the season with three wins out of three.

City went 3 behind in a cup game against a team that bottled in and won 3-4 :)
