Matty said:Tottenham have won 6 of their 9 league games, yet only scored 9 goals. 4 of those wins have been 1-0, and 3 of those have been due to a penalty kick. Whilst 19 points from 9 games is a very good return it doesn't take a genius to realise that averaging 1 goal per game, and only scoring 6 goals from "open play" in that time, isn't going to be enough to maintain that level of points return. Defensively Spurs look pretty sound, just the 5 conceded, but in a team with the midfield creativity Spurs have purchased there should be a lot more goals being scored.
The big mistake spurs made is although then spent well on their midfield, they failed to bring in a wonderful winger and they did not buy a world class striker. The boy up front is average for me. less he scored four goals but three of those have been from penalty. His movement of the ball is well short of the likes of sergios and luis
