Tottenham have won 6 of their 9 league games, yet only scored 9 goals. 4 of those wins have been 1-0, and 3 of those have been due to a penalty kick. Whilst 19 points from 9 games is a very good return it doesn't take a genius to realise that averaging 1 goal per game, and only scoring 6 goals from "open play" in that time, isn't going to be enough to maintain that level of points return. Defensively Spurs look pretty sound, just the 5 conceded, but in a team with the midfield creativity Spurs have purchased there should be a lot more goals being scored.

The big mistake spurs made is although then spent well on their midfield, they failed to bring in a wonderful winger and they did not buy a world class striker. The boy up front is average for me. less he scored four goals but three of those have been from penalty. His movement of the ball is well short of the likes of sergios and luis

Did you buy United's penalty luck in the summer?

After going the last two seasons without being awarded a home penalty, I'll gladly take what we were rightly given yesterday.

Did the ball hit the defender's raised hand?

Yes.

Did it happen in the penalty area?

Yes....

Bollocks; it wasn't a penalty. His arm wasn't raised. The ball hit his wrist/forearm which is level with his chest. Also, IIRC, a handball has to be intentional for a penalty to be awarded. In other words, hand/arm to ball. You don't honestly think that was the case there, do you? Finally, answer me this. Would you have been happy if that penalty had been given against Spurs?

Spurs are nowhere near a better team now ,without Bale and previously Modric .they will finish in a similar position.

And to suggest that yesterday's awful decision was a penalty shows some lack of judgement and knowledge.

Sometimes they're given.

Sometimes they're not.

This one was.

End of story.
Very true; now answer the questions I asked you.

1. Was the handball (in your opinion) intentional?
2. Would you have been happy to see an identical penalty awarded against Spurs?

I'll answer for him.

1. Not intentional.
2. I wouldn't be happy with it.

Still can't believe we got that yesterday to be honest, but I'll take it.

You should be happy with 19 points considering how average you been this season. You are going to have to improve though if you going to get into the top four. Your missing bale spark going forward this season.

It was never a penalty and I said it to my misses straight away. I think 99% of the time a handball in the box is unintentional. Half the time you hear commentators make a comment "well his arm was raised" its just a natural reaction.

I don't think it's necessarily the players under performing but AVB's tactics. We are very good at keeping the ball and he's quite happy for us to camp in their half. Most games 70%-30% possession in favour, yet we're slow and predictable and teams set up perfectly to stop us. Soldado has barely anything to work with.

If we are so good at the back yet lack that bit extra I think it's time to do what Rodgers tried in a 3-5-2 type and bring adebayor in as he brings midfielders into play and would create more for Soldado too. Hull tried to do a west ham and may well have done if it wasn't for the penalty

Strange thing with spurs and liverpool is both are doing very well this season in the league . But both have stengths and weakenss

spurs : going forward you look good in midfield but weak up front. defence has been solid
liverpool : fantastic going forward with two world class strikers , decent midfield but awful defence.

Still villa boas and rodgers have done well so far in my view

Can't complain about our points total that's for sure. In someways I try to look at it in a positive way, we're 3 off you guys who are playing wonderful, and above city who are not playing badly at all IMO.

If we can play shite and win, maybe we can win more when we start to play to full potential.
