Been away from the internet for a while, how long has glory glory been down for? Looks like I may have to take a temporary residence here for a bit once again :)

Amazingly enough there's some positive news regarding our transfers at the minute, with Jan and Remy actually looking pretty viable. With Caulker and Naughton returning we'll actually have a defense that actually has a future, rather than having to swap between King and Gallas each other week.

I think that Vertonghen (admittedly I've only seen him play two or three times) and Kaboul could make a solid CB partnership with a future. Caulker as third choice CB and Naughton covering Walker and Benny. We haven't had a defensive squad like that in ages, this season for example, not having proper LB cover has cost us in Rose ballsing it all up against Villa.

The re-assuring thing is we seem to be getting on with stuff now, although we'll still probably be panicking on the last day of the transfer window bidding for gary taylor fletcher and Kevin Doyle....Although Doyle isn't actually that bad of a shout imo...

You need a striker, desperately. With Adebayor only on loan, and Saha's contract up (so might not be extended, should fuck him off to pay Ade's wages) to partner Defoe, who I still rate highly.

I can see Modric leaving this summer. Van der Vaart will stay, not to sure about Bale though. Can see Barca going big to get him, or even Mourinho, maybe involving a swap deal for di Maria.

The reason you cocked up getting Champs League this season is Redknapp, skimping your squad in January, and I the England possibility rattled him. I wouldn't be surprised if he left and you got in Capello, would be a brilliant move for you lot I reckon.

It seems like either one of Gallas or King will be let go, unfortunately it looks like King's legs have ran out, and as hard as it is to admit it, he cost us in a few important games. His challenge on Ballo for the 3 - 2 is not what we are used to from such a calm and composed defender. Gallas is still quality when he comes in but he'll often play a few games and then miss 3 months. Neither can be relied on. Hopefully King will get a testimonial against a club of massive stature to get the proper send off he deserves.

Dawson is a strange one as well, two injury prone seasons and questionable form when he wasn't injured. He's getting on, will struggle to get his pace back, and is expensive in the 25 man squad as it's centre back or nothing for him.

Another good point, it's going to be a busy summer if we want to sort out our squad long term. It'd be nice to find our own long term keeper as opposed to relying on short term fixes but I can't fault Brad, been quality and a calm influence on our defence, which was a nice change.

This. Look at Athletico and Athletic Bilbao this season, brilliant football and very very decent opponents. They've made it a reputable competition again and like you said, less pressure on your squad and valuable experience. By building a decent squad it could improve your league performances and individuals.

Admittedly Friedal had been like Van der Saar at the rags. I asked this question to another Spurs fan on here, do you reckon you will give Harry another deal?

I've no idea, I guess if Levy doesn't plan on giving him another deal it may make him think twice about signing his targets, so if there is little faith there then it makes sense to get rid, get a new manager and have a rebuilding summer. Think Harry's only got a few more years managing at this level, and I'm pretty much on the fence regarding him staying or leaving.
