Those stats were taken 25 games into the season for players with 20+ appearances but agree they can be mis-leading for a variety of reasons. Here is the table:

Highest average distance per game (20+ apps)

(mins) (km) (Average per 90 mins)
Dan Gosling 2021 267.91 11.92
Dele Alli 1757 231.69 11.86
James Milner 1877 246.71 11.82
Christian Eriksen 1873 240.57 11.55
Adam Lallana 1563 199.91 11.51
James McClean 1811 230.06 11.42
Erik Lamela 1563 197.42 11.36
Jack Cork 1495 187.98 11.32
James Ward-Prowse 1289 160.96 11.23
Aaron Ramsey 1978 246.31 11.21
Hugely misleading as I suspect if for arguments sake Gosling has come on for the last 15 minutes they have just multiplied his stats by six and then said that's what he would have run if he had stayed on for the 90.

Pointless stat to honest as Spurs could be top as they are always chasing back to defend and West Ham could be bottom as they attack with short passes and can;t be bothered chasing back to defend.

Shame most of ours are desperately chasing players back towards our own goal in a fruitless attempt to prevent them scoring.

people need to stop trying too tarnish a truly remarkable story

Do referees want Leicester to win the league?
Andy Townsend, Chris Sutton and Rory Smith discuss the possibility of referees, even opposition players, being affected by Leicester's remarkable tilt at the Premier League title.

Claudio Ranieri's side are now seven points clear at the top and Smith suggests referees, "won't want to be the guy to deny Leicester a win through a contentious decision".

The referees have let them get away with murder this season in comparison to others
