Nice bloke

He was.
Brought up during WW1 in a very rough area. Barely educated, he worked for the police throughout WW2, subsequently worked as Estate vetenarian on a large estate. What he didn't know about animals wasn't worth knowing.
Not bad for a bloke crippled from birth.

As you can imagine, he had a very wicked sense of humour!

Saw them at the Apollo in Manchester when I was at college, 1962/3 and they were in their prime so 1965 was never going to be correct.
