Borussia Dortmund as a subject?
Magnus Magnusson must be turning in his grave (assuming he was buried....)
*lol* well he came second to the man who had The Norman Conquest as his specialist subject. He was a semi finalist which means of course that it was not his original specialist subject but his third.
I can’t remember what either of his others were.

The question was: Against which club did Erling Braut Haaland score 3 goals on his debut in the Bundesliga for Borussia Dortmund in 2020?

EDITED as I missed 3 very important words in the question!!! Sorry.

Granted you do have to have a few specialised subjectsi and I guess questions about players or games 50 / 60 years ago could have been asked.
I just recall a bloke years ago doing questions on The Sex Pistols, a band that had a shelf life of just short of 3 years and one album and was up against someone doing entire works of Shakespeare!

Yes they did ask questions relating to how it came to be formed in 1909(?) and how the man who became club secretary pushed some Minister downstairs because he disagreed about them forming a football club!

I know exactly what you mean about the subjects although the Borussia one was the most ‘frivolous’ of the 4 tonight. I have noticed a couple of times this season that the General Knowledge round has pulled a few people through.

The Chase
Scottish woman asked this question

Q. Which Scottish village rose to prominence after the (year given) Weddings Act of England & Wales?
A. Pass

But fair play to her - she only got one question right but took the £40,000 on offer and beat The Beast to it.

She had about 3 Scottish related questions, I think they do that on purpose, something about haggis was one, she looked older than she was :/
The Beast got the easier questions in the last bit, I hate that, they're professional quizzers, give them the harder ones for god's sake.. rather than do you want set A or B it should be do you want the harder questions or the easier questions?
