Well ok, but then fuck cars off and factory chimneys and anything else that emits fumes - We'll have no double standards here.

These people wont be happy till they live in woods again eating leaves

Smoking leaves, surely.

Seriously man, what the fuck are you slavering about?

Do you even know?

Need to take it further & ban smoking in the entrance to bars.
Should have a designated area like a greenhouse with no windows so they can all choke to death.

In actual fact I believe that Roy Castle was due to a genetic pre-disposition (which was not related to passive smoking)

Notwithstanding that I fail to see how inhaling something that has been proven to give you cancer (albeit in attenuated form) can be anything other than harmful.

It almost certainly is harmful - But why single out smoking when there's car fumes, Chernoble shite in the water table etc..seems like bollox to me.

Well I'm singling out smoking in this thread because that is what the thread is about.

I suspect in any event that as the ban is now in place that insurers would refuse to endorse a return to smoking due to latency issues. Furthermore, more broadly, employers are obliged to provide a safe place of work. A return to smoking could arguably fall foul of that, as the reasons for the ban haven't gone away.

Like De Niro I am in the not sures about passive smoking, but I think there is enoough of a risk that it isn't 'bullshit' to warrant the ban.

I have been told you are supposed to be at least 3 metres from the entrance of any public building to have a cig. Dunno if true.

But why on god's green earth would you want people to die because they have a craving for nicotine. Nobody you know smoke?

You may well be right, but the question I'm asking is what is the point of singling out smoking for a ban when we're all breathing in all other kindsa shite anyway?

Well smoking isn't banned, its use is controlled in certain environments. There are similar controls on car fumes and nuclear power (the two examples you gave previously).

On that basis smoking is not 'singled out', it is merely subject to appropriate, equivilent controls on its use like the other examples you gave.

Look if you read my earlier post you would no what i think, smoking is definatly harmful in the second hand for everyone. What i said and you read it yourself is do the same people walk around with face masks on for the car fumes?? Look i agree with the ban because no one should have to put up with it but have you ever walked down the road and thought fuck that car it should be in its own private area polluting the air.
