"The Voice" of football

BITD it was David Coleman, Brian Moore and Barry Davies, all brilliant!
Love Peter Drury, Jon Champion and Rob Hawthorne are good too.
I really like Ian Crocker who does the Scottish games on Sky.

These are/were proper commentators who told you about the game not trying to buddy up to a pundit or a club and gain 'followers' on social media.

The radio commentators are light years ahead. John Murray is a genius and follows on from others like Bryon Butler, Mike Ingham and the best of them all Peter Jones (try and find one his commentaries, his voice, style and knowledge are on a different level).

Barry Davis

The best by a massive distance was Barry Davis, utter class, no bias, no playing to the masses just quality. What we have now is utter rubbish from idiots who think their opinion is of any relevance to others who are there for every reason but football reasons. I think there is now cause for giving people the option of no commentators as they now are mostly an irritation. Same with the studio guests, bar a tiny minority most are an annoyance there to just back their clubs or are there for token reasons. I now never watch pre match, half time or full time analysis as I am sick of the both biased or badly misinformed rubbish that they mostly come out with added to that I will watch it on a foreign station so as not to have to listen to these idiots utter crap which totally spoils the game.
End of Thread.

Davis is the all-rounder of sports commentary. The sporting voice of the BBC.

BITD the sport commentators didnt just do one sport, they were all rounders, and didnt arse lick. Todays footballer commentators are far to worried with what will be said on social media by the reds shirts than what they are seeing on the pitch. Tyler just waffles on about anything but the match in front of him

The voice which seems to unify everyone on here is that of 'City legend' Andy Hinchcliffe.
