"The Voice" of football

Peter Jones without doubt for me when football was on radio 2 .. for television Barry Davies I think I remember correctly he did his last match with us seem to recall Kevin keegan giving him some kind of gift .

Across his career, John Motson is the iconic voice of football.

Kenneth Wolstenholme has the most iconic passage of commentary with, “And here comes Hurst! He's got...some of the people are on the pitch...they think it’s all over...IT IS NOW! It’s four!”

Martin Tyler has the most iconic passage of commentary in the modern/Premier League era with, “it’s finished at Sunderland, Manchester United have done all they can, that Rooney goal was enough for the three points...Manchester City are still alive here...Balotelliii... AGÜEROOOOOOOOO!......... I swear you'll never see anything like this ever again...so watch it, drink it in... They've just heard the news at The Stadium of Light... Two goals in added time for Manchester City to snatch the title away from Manchester United!”

Maybe that’s even surpassed Wolstenholme?

But Moston’s voice is the iconic voice.
