Thiago isn't even in the same class as Yaya and to suggest he is, is absolutely absurd.

read my post what i said is he is better than fernandinho and navas but he would also be good comp for yaya as lately his performance has dropped. I would personally play;
------------------Fernandinho------------------
-------------Yaya-----------Thiago------------
--Isco-----------------------------------Silva-
-------------------Aguero---------------------
and as ive said for the last 2 months i dont think we need a new striker and would much rather buy Thiago, plus i put silva on the left and isco right because they are left and right footed respectivly plus will swa anyway. silva plays great for spain in this position.

Is he bollocks better than Fernandinho.

And Navas is a winger.
imo he is better than fernandinho and would of prob been a better buy and wouldnt of cost as much but why couldnt we have both?

this guy is unreal and we need to snap him up, i just hope the rags dont, but its looking more likely they are going too, does anyone know if we are even interested

Don't think we have shown any interest to date, If he goes at all, i think it will be to the rags. they have been trying to sign him for years, and this is the position they need the most. Not sure how he will do week in week out, think there may be too much pressure for a young lad to perform at the rags. If he did come to us, he would get games, but not first choice in the team week in week out. He is one for the future though.

Who ever is not doing it, it's called competition for place/rotation/injuries.
If he was happy to fight for a place/be part of a rotational system he wouldn't be leaving Barca in the first place. He wants to be a guaranteed starter in the big games.

We bought Fernandinho because he has the engine to enable us to play a 2 man midfield with him and Yaya. It would've been a waste of time buying him if he's just gonna be deployed as an anchorman because you're not getting anywhere near the best out of him.

thiago is capable of playing further forward and so is yaya so some games we would play 433 and other games we would play 4231 they would all fit in togeather and turn us from a good team to a great team.

For a ball playing, more defensive midfielder he hasn't done bad scoring 3 goals in the first half of the final. I think if we did sign him for City we'd basically have a league side and a cup side. There are a few weeks when we play weekend and midweek throughout the season, having Isco, Thiago, Yaya, and Silva would mean we can rest important players and cope with any injuries. I would hope we can compete for all the domestic trophies this season and at least get out of the group stage of the Champions League.

Thiago can easily be accommodated in our squad and would play plenty of games, I only hope our hierarchy try to persuade him to come to us. We at least have to show interest at the 18 million buyout price.

What people don't seem to recognise is the fact that if we play the Barca way, or the Spanish way, we only need one striker, or even no strikers. All the midfield interchange positions throughout the game, and all ae capable of getting in scoring positions. Personally I'd prefer us to sign Jackson Martinez and forget about Cavani, and use the extra cash we'd save to sign Thiago. If only we could sign these players, and with Pellegrini in charge we should be certain favourites for the league.

He isn't a defensive player he's an attacking player. He would have to take the place of one of our attacking players.

I don't agree an attacking player would have to leave to make way for Thiago, but I agree he is an attacking central midfielder.

He would be perfect to challenge Yaya and rotate with Yaya, or even better play in a midfield three of Thiago-Yaya-Fernandinho.

Fernandinho and Garcia as our more defensive midfielders.

Yaya and Thiago as our more attacking central midfielders.

Rodwell as a the more versatile player who can switch between either an attacking position and defensive position.

That for me is a perfect blend of central midfielders.

We would be missing out massively if he went to the scum for the money being asked, he pretty much solves their midfield issue.

We could have both if Thiago was allowed to just sign for City without competition. But he won't be taking a shirt off fernandinho or Yaya, he'll be competing with (hopefully) Isco, Silva, Aguero etc & imo won't get a regular game once the comparisons are made.

He is the sort of player you have to build the team around, but he's not good enough to merit that.

People always think players we don't have are better than ones we do.

Plus, I don't think you have watched much of Fernandinho if you think Thiago is better. He would have looked like Superman's faster brother in the middle of that kid's game today.

dont jump in half way through a conversation, read back a few pages to where i say he plays in a different position to navas but i think he has more abillity to when someone else said we dont need him we have navas and fernandinho.
and also i believe thiago is better than fernandinho and given the choice would of had him but still think we should be getting both.

Why ? What can he do that others in City's team can't (other than take a direct free kick, which admittedly, we are crap at) ?
