Things in films I just don't get

In real life do yanks just put the phone down without saying bye like they always do in the movies?
Probably not but they also dont have unlimited ammo in machine guns and luckily know how to fly 747's when a terrorist group has been taken out using a spork and a strange underground system of a plane

The classical Hollywood narrative is thus:

Film begins with hero/heroine's life as normal.
Something bad happens.
Hero/Heroine spends rest of the film trying to re-establish normality.
Hero/Heroine mostly succeed, but sometimes the 'twist' is that they fail.
The End.

Makes me laugh that nobody says "bye" when ending a call. Or in soaps when someone says something shocking or hard hitting they fucking walk off!! Where the fuck have they gone? Its a two up two down for fuck sake!!

car/foot chases or fights that start in broad daylight and end in pitch black of night 5mins later wind me right up

In rom coms:
Boy, girl meet.
Boy, girl like each other
Something happens an they hate each other.
They spend some time feeling shit about being apart.
Something happens and they fall in love.

Some sex scenes in the middle of it if you are lucky.

Not just films

But why do they whisper to each other and when you can blatantly tell there lying the other person doesn't recognise this.
