Ye because I'm sure city look at bluemoon transfer thread to see who we want.
TBF Ric and Mods have said their are many ip's come from Carrington and the club certainly monitor Bluemoon. So it is not so fanciful. The thread title would attract Carrington interest.

Whilst it's true that people from the club read the forum (we don't really know who), monitoring it is a bit strong, in fact it verges on paranoia, I am sure all clubs try and take on board what fans are saying, but I very much doubt they will change policies based on the hysterical rantings of an anonymous poster on an internet forum

The press dept read it to gauge feelings of fans, that's straight from the horses mouth

No one is suggesting the club changes policies based on "hysterical rantings" however I'm sure it's very tempting for the "guys in the office" to give some moral support to the boss when he is criticised.

Brilliant Post this by the OP.

Hopefully with Soriano coming on board things like this wont happen.

You have to be deluded if you think its been a good transfer window, I don't know what happens behind the scenes so we don't know whose fault it is ( although the finger points towards Marwood). All our rivals have strengthened while we have stood still thats the truth, we have not got rid of rsq, Johnson, Kolo, a lot of older EDS players who don't have a future and we haven't strengthened in the positions we need to e.g centre back, winger and Central Midfield. Rodwell is for the future I cant see him improving us this season and although I like the look of Sinclair and imo he will be a better option that Johnson but obviously we missed out on Hazzard another failure. I also don't think Mancini wants Dzeko here but we couldn't find a buyer which is why we didn't bid for rvp. Having said we are still in a great position to challenge for the title but but I cant see our squad having the depth to challenge on all fronts.

In response to the OP - if you have been biting your tongue for 3 months, why couldn't you wait another 7 days until the transfer window officially shuts so you can better a more informed judgement.

At the end of the day neither me, you or anyone else on Bluemoon has a clue as to which players we want, why we want those players or how we are conducting our business. You say Barcelona strengthened their squad after they won the treble but you conveniently forget to mention that Real Madrid who won the Spanish league last year haven't made a single signing this summer, despite the public battle for Modric.

We all know because it was made public knowledge of our interest in Van Persie but in our current position we don't need to take gambles on players who are way overpriced and who aren't value for money. United are desperate to win the title back from us so have taken that gamble and it may pay off but I don't think any club with thoughts about long term sustainability would have risked upwards of £40m (transfer fee + wages) on an injury prone 29 year old who will have very little resale value in a couple of years. The Hazard situation was different because as far as we're all aware the fee was agreed with Lille, personal terms were agreed with the player and the only stumbling block was the £4m agent fee that only Chelsea were willing to pay (hence us and United both pulling out of the deal).

As a club we have set out with a very different strategy from previous years because we have refused to pay agent fees, we have refused to pay players contracts up and we have stayed strong in terms of not backing down to the likes of Tevez and Adebayor. Our dealings have been very professional and conducted out of the public eye, we are now trying to forge relationships with other clubs and do deals that are good for us, the selling or buying club and the player involved rather than just throwing money at every situation like we have in the past. So while we may miss out on a couple of targets this window, it will teach clubs who do want to deal with us in the future that we won't be messed around by them, players or agents. Look at the deal for Rodwell - the press knew fuck all until it was done and dusted, we dealt with Moyes in a very dignified manner in comparison to the deal for Lescott and they'll be very happy to deal with us again in the future. That's how business works these days, you have to build relationships and do things professionally or people will not take you seriously. Trust the people in charge, after all we've made significant progress every single year since the takeover on and off the pitch.

Great post that.

The thing what i think annoys us city fans is when we can see players available who would improve our team and are good value in the market the club seems reluctant to go for them.
Like Sahin he ticks all the boxes we need, a deep lying playmaker, Quality, not a break the bank signing (probz cost the same as Rodwell), and definatley has a resale value. And when you consider he is likely to sign for Liverpool or Arsenal chances are he would sign for us. Another player is Isco from Malaga, due to Malaga's financial state he would be available for around 15 mil according to reports and there is no questioning the boys talents. He has the potential to be as good as Silva and we are looking at a player who could easily be worth 40 million in the future. It's players like these who I get annoyed for the club not signing as I know they will go on to be stars of other clubs and make that club a lot of money. And it is not as if we haven't been looking at players in their respective positions, we didn't get Hazard so go for Isco and we didn't get DDR so get Sahin by doing these deals we would have saved nearly 30 million in fees and more than that in wages. For all I know the club could be looking at these players but I doubt it.

Another problem with the club IMO is the lack of good relationships we have with other clubs for example, when we loaned Robinho to Santos we should of made sure there were clauses in the deal which allows us first option on a few of their youngsters. That would have been a good deal for both clubs as they get a quality player, we get rid of a trouble maker but also get a head start of future brazillian stars. it's like with Tevez the guy is world class but chances are he won't sign a new deal with us so instead of selling him next season for a knock down price or letting him join a European club on a free in two years time we should IMO offer him to Boca on a free next season in return for us getting the first option on a number of young players. This may come at a price letting them have a world class player for free but in the long run it would massivley benefit our club and create a good relationship with clubs who have produced world class players through their acadamy.

My finger points towards Hughes. Marwood and Bobby have to do their best in the aftermath, whilst seemingly being the only club concerned with FFP, as Chelsea and PSG don't give a stuff.

Some players might not fit the profile the club wants.every player we are after will have a full dossier done on them. Not just on the playing side but personal life etc.

i think Marwood and his team would already be regretting missing out on Hazzard,a person like marwood is just not good enough to be managing transfers at a club like ours.

PSG have no choice, otherwise they will miss the boat. Chelsea have the CL prize money to spend, and are expected to meet FFP anyway, they were one of clubs that were behind it being brought in, long after their major spending spree ended. City do have to care, because we could still be excluded if we are not sensible, but by behaving sensibly we are showing willing to meet FFP.

Hughes/City also had no choice at the time, the only way we could get the players to bridge the gap was pay stupid fee's and wages for those who weren't quite top players, the policy did its job, but we are still counting the cost certainly on the wage front. Some of the players were signed by Hughes, some for him, so not all the blame can be laid at his door.
