This transfer window/Marwood

It's not always about the immeditate season in front of you. With the new facilities being built, this programme of development was always going to happen over a generation (20-30 years). I think the aim is to wean agents and potential signings off the idea that we are going to pay through our noses for any decent player. Of course, that's not to say the club will not be willing to complete fairly with other clubs for a talented player. If we can attract the best young talent with our facilities (sporting *and* educational, I want my footballer to be smart thanks very much. Makes for a far better player) then we will have not just enhanced a club, but created a sporting institute.

Chelsea have spent £80million now and still want to add a marquee striker, I guess winning the Champions League pays off! Our £12million spend so far must be one of the lowest any top 4 team has spent in some time but that will change in the next 7 days surely.

Whilst it's true that people from the club read the forum (we don't really know who), monitoring it is a bit strong, in fact it verges on paranoia, I am sure all clubs try and take on board what fans are saying, but I very much doubt they will change policies based on the hysterical rantings of an anonymous poster on an internet forum

The press dept read it to gauge feelings of fans, that's straight from the horses mouth

I'm sure they read Bluemoon to see what the fans reaction is to running out of chips at half time, pre match entertainment, ticket prices, possibly even to whether Tevez should be allowed back.

I very much doubt that they read it to gauge our reaction to possible transfers. And I'd be astonished if they read it because they wanted to know what we think about a backroom member of staff when we haven't the faintest idea what he's doing behind the scenes.

Wasnt saying they take any notice re transfers etc should have made that point more clear

To blame someone you need to know that a mistake has been made. Are you part of the city board by any chance? Are you privy to the inner finances of city? The answer will be no - just like me. So to blame marwood for a lack of transfer activity is merely based on your expectations and desire for signings not being met. We have a good squad ffs.

We should petition the relevant authorities to move the transfer window to when the kids are in school. Or better still just scrap the transfer window altogether, what was the point of it being introduced in the first place?

Thats a fair point but that is the only criticism I have of Mancini, it seems if a player doesn't fit his bill then he isn't interested which is completely understandable btw.

Not trying to single you out, but this is being used far too frequently as a way to not discuss things on both sides of every single debate in almost every single thread at this point.

As for carnage... no, that will happen if we don't win the league. Then I think people will go nuts after the fact including some that keep preaching patience.
