It's not always about the immeditate season in front of you. With the new facilities being built, this programme of development was always going to happen over a generation (20-30 years). I think the aim is to wean agents and potential signings off the idea that we are going to pay through our noses for any decent player. Of course, that's not to say the club will not be willing to complete fairly with other clubs for a talented player. If we can attract the best young talent with our facilities (sporting *and* educational, I want my footballer to be smart thanks very much. Makes for a far better player) then we will have not just enhanced a club, but created a sporting institute.
