Those working from home

Full time working from home now or as I call it retirement :) Wife works 4 out of 5 at home and will by the look of it forever, so my man cave is been built as we speak because spending 24/7 with her is becoming tedious if im honest.

worked from home this morning, then done the gardening, dropped kid off at school and now having a nice pub lunch.
Will resume wfh when back.

start earlier, finish later, 10-minute lunch - never worked as hard in my bastard life - what was commute time is now added to the work day - right, back to turning pigs' ears into silk gloves

My wife being asked to return to the office a few days a week now..done well to navigate 3 years of it without going into the office. However it's totally fucking up childcare and might mean working FT from home is part time in office. Her work have KO'D possibility of WFH permanently. Feel like I'm one of the last men standing.. anyone else still WFH 100%?

Loads still are, and loads of places are hiring on that basis, offering the choice.

I don't think any office based employer should be really enforcing one or the other any more, or affecting people's habits that have been built up over the years. Everyone has learned to adjust and that should be a long term legacy imo.

This.

I’ve got a mate who works for one of the big office landlords - they’re in massive financial shit and laying off staff.

Most businesses have realised that you don’t need to tie people to a desk for 8 hours a day to function.

And the ones that haven’t moved with the times just lose staff.

I could easily work from home but enjoy coming in to the office. I would miss being around people

WFH 100% of the time.

Occasional team meetings and get-togethers at one of the regional offices is a pretty good deal if you ask me.

Like others have said, any change to that and it would seriously impact how life works for me now with school runs etc being part of the daily routine.

Worked 4 days a week for 23 years now - since kids were born.
Worked from home , 2 years before lockdown - due to health issues.
Work in IT so we had the remote work setup already, so it was an easy issue to ramp up for more people, and the job means I don’t need too much input to progress.
lockdown and wfh were therefore a doddle for me , workwise and lack of work social interaction fine.
Health and other issues, meant that I never made it back into office. I think I’ve been maybe 5 times in over 5 years - it generally kills me off, driving these days, so I’m bolloxed to actually work.
Health and other issues pushed me into going down to only 3 days almost 2 years ago. I’m very tired after just 3 days work. I enjoy my work, but…

I’m extremely lucky in my circumstances, that I can do this.
