Those working from home

I wonder how many HR (Nazis) have been laid off because there’s less people getting in trouble for saying incorrect things in the office or someone dropping them in the shit.

We've taken on more and still not up to much. Complaints made about our new manager and they say he's quite within his rights to make decisions he's made. Moved only girl in team to desk closer to his, when she asked why I've sat here for years 'because I can'. She's now next to a window with draught and we've had to log a ticket with maintenance to get it and frame replaced. Only last week we asked could she move away to old desk until window replaced and he said no. Made her come into office during bus strike (her only means via public transport). She had to waken her kids and put them in car so her husband could give her lift. Same day there was train strike and a guy who can also get underground was told it was ok to work from home. Similar with me, I asked could I work from home as going on holiday that evening and would make things easier going to airport with no 90 minutes commute home to collect cases. The other guy asked week after me and he was allowed. Got loads more similar stories

Been working from home since the first lockdown. Fucking love it. Get so much more work done without being hassled by people who want you to do shit you don't get paid to do.

Been doing 2 days a week in the office for a few years now, and do quite like going in.

Problem is, when I WFH I actually leave the house on lunch to take the dog out, where as I tend to just work through when at the office.

We've all been asked to make a good effort to use the office more frequently to find the right 'balance'. Think its more aimed at those that literally never show their face, or the ones that do 1 day every couple of weeks.

Like others have said, managers can't afford to make 5 days compulsory as it'll just create a shitstorm and completely de-motivate everyone, probably resulting in plenty moving elsewhere.

I chuckle when every single person who works from home says they do more work and achieve more results. I wonder who assesses the figures? Every one I know who works from home are taking the piss and our neighbour across the road is always out on his bicycle doing 30 mile bike rides

That's my experience of it aswell also we are losing years of experience that would get passed on with normal office interaction.
