Ticket Prices

Ideally the 1894 group, city matters, supporters club should release a statement condemning it. We really need to push this into the spotlight and basically shame the club.

Most people aren’t part of these organisations so I guess maybe emailing the FSF or city directly could make a minute difference…
absolutely

"The lowest-priced standard seasoncards – of which there are 2,000 – have gone up from £299 to £310, which City claim is still cheaper than any of their 'regional competitors'."
There’s probably another 500 value gold season cards available to OSC members, at £300.

There is no comparison with US sports. Football is a working class game where the working classes are year on year getting priced out. The US pay through the nose for sport. 80 USD for the UFC numbered cards that we generally get with a BT Sport subscription and their boxing PPV's are also eye watering. It's like comparing apples and pears.

Don't know about the pie situation now as have cut out spending so much in and around the stadium but the balti pies at Maine Road were fantastic back in the day.

Think the cheapest season tickets are the £350 ones? Apart from those lottery Value Gold ones. Nobody is saying they aren't great value it's the matchday prices people are having grievance with. The North London clubs are a law unto themselves pricewise with their season tickets. Think its Wolves fans that are getting ripped off the most as far as season ticket prices are concerned.

I paid £350 at the back of the south stand level 3 and £170 for my sons this season,it works out for me at
£27.36 per game.Unbelievable bargain ,its the only way I could afford to go.
I'v been looking at the prices for tomorrow v Tott, and its very very pricey.
For a normal bloke like me to take my lad if we weren't season card holders would be £68 and £45 to sit in our seats,£113 for the 2 of us.Just way to high for most local people,it saddens me,really saddens me.

I guess most local fans don't bother looking for tickets these days ,unless word as got out there are fair cup price tickets.
The £350 and £425 season tickets in SSL3 are excellent value, as are the £310 Value Gold season tickets. The rest of the season tickets are roughly similar to the likes of United and Liverpool, not cheap by any means, we often get a decent deal on cup tickets only because they couldn’t shift them otherwise. The Premier league match day tickets however, are ludicrous, an absolute joke and it sours the otherwise wonderful work the current ownership has done with the club.

I know mate, thats why I said it saddens me.
I was took into City as a youth free of charge in the late 1960's ,when my grandad picked me up going through the turnstile and paying just for himself, saying to the teller," future supporter" .Its gone from that to now,£68 and £45 for a dad and son, whats gonna happen to our local fan base, kids whose parents can't afford ridiculous prices,we should be tapping into this, with affordable ticket prices, not just early round carabao.fa cup matches.

I’m going to take a lot of heat for this on here but those prices are relatively low.

Go to any sporting event in the US and you are easily paying $100-150 PER TICKET. Obviously there are examples of it being lower but this is universal in NBA, NHL, NFL, Tennis. I can assume the prices at Wimbledon for instance would be similar as well.

I brought my wife on our honeymoon to a city vs. burnley game in 2018. I was over the moon with the ticket prices!

Just saying it could be ALOT worse

The prices of American sport have nothing to do with English football or this discussion really. Americans get fleeced. Football is a working class game - no comparison

Season ticket holders should get cheaper tickets.

Even then, my season ticket is the second largest Direct Debit I have coming out each month after my mortgage. So it’s not as cheap as you’d imagine.

I don’t think any football ticket should be more than £30 for an adult yet my season ticket averages out at £45/game.
Fuck me.

With the cost of gas and electricity, if my second largest DD after the mortgage was a season ticket, I'd be in the tunnel club every match!

I’ll try and be careful how I word this as I don’t want to be accused of generalising again. But do working class people in America watch professional sports live, in any sort of the numbers as they do here?

I look at a team like the Brooklyn Nets on TV and the crowd is very white, in an area where white people are in a minority. I’m well aware not all white people are rich and not all black people are poor. But the demographic of the crowd certainly nowhere near matches that of the area. And this is in a sport where black players are hugely over represented on the court. So it’s not like baseball which perhaps traditionally doesn’t appeal to the black community as much, generally speaking.

A few weeks ago I looked for Spurs tickets - none available for 2 together. Last week or so, bombarded with emails texts social media notifications that tickets available. Wouldnt have bought anyway at 68 quid. Now theyre 70 and loads available wtf !
