I think if possible you should always take proof of purchase ie copy of email, text on your phone or proof of being in the schemes. If you have no printer then try and use someone elses.
Trouble is, and you may or may not be surprised to hear this, but people WILL try it on, saying they're a seasoncard holder and they bought a ticket when they clearly didn't. Sadly, because this goes on, everyone without proof is tarred with the same brush, but you can see the clubs point of view, if someone just turns up, the card doesn't work and there's no proof and nothing on their device, they can only assume the person is trying it on so all they can do is point the person in the direction of the ticket office.
For those genuine people who have made purchases but have no proof to show, its a problem.
