Ticket Shambles Tonight - Disgraceful

I think if possible you should always take proof of purchase ie copy of email, text on your phone or proof of being in the schemes. If you have no printer then try and use someone elses.

Trouble is, and you may or may not be surprised to hear this, but people WILL try it on, saying they're a seasoncard holder and they bought a ticket when they clearly didn't. Sadly, because this goes on, everyone without proof is tarred with the same brush, but you can see the clubs point of view, if someone just turns up, the card doesn't work and there's no proof and nothing on their device, they can only assume the person is trying it on so all they can do is point the person in the direction of the ticket office.

For those genuine people who have made purchases but have no proof to show, its a problem.
 
Loads of nonsense sorting out my tickets for Napoli x 3 despite being on the cup scheme and Season Card holder, phone calls, wasted visits to the ground, usual bollocks.
New ticket system has loads of problems, and the staff are demotivated punch bags, and in typical City fashion we are all fucking guinea pigs having to put up or fuck off, absolute joke.
 
Yes I had the same problem you go to the ticket office and they say to you yes you are on the cup scheme ,OK then why havent you taken the money out and activated my card you idiots I got in@8.10 Franny Lee is right Cup for Cock-ups we are the best at it.

Went to go in......... red light on the card. Steward takes it on the hand held machine and informs me I havent paid for a ticket for tonight. I protest and am sent to the ticket office.
They tell me the same. I give them the card I paid for the ticket and they tell me the only transaction on that card in the last 3 months was the Wigan game. I protest and ask who has the seat I am meant to be in and they cant confirm it other than say it wasn't in my name.
I had to pay for a seat in 3rd tier and got into the ground FIVE minutes before the end of the first half.
Just got home and have the receipt for the ticket and the receipt says I paid for it on the exact same card I gave them tonight. It gives the seat number I should have been sat in.
I'm going down tomorrow to the ticket office and asking for my money back on the original ticket and my money back for the ticket bought tonight as compo for being fucked about and missing the first half.

This is my last City game as I am emigrating on Friday and what a fucking shambles......... what was to be a celebration of 48 years of supporting City turned into a reminder of what a fucking shite organisation behind the scenes City are.......

There were many other City fans in the queue too - people were showing the stewards and ticket office their receipts but being told ''computer says no''

i am actually shocked at the situations people have found themselves in on here , i have never had any problems touch wood, i just cant understand how it goes terribly wrong for some of you.

Would of solved most of your probs, also ticket office is surely gonna be busy on the day of a ticket issue match. Basic schoolboy errors on your part I believe.


It does not matter if you have the receipt - if the computer does not think your swipe card is activated you can show them your receipt and they will not let you in - I have had this happen to me 7 or 8 times. So in fact basic school boy error on your part I believe

Monday afternoon I go upstairs and queued up. When I got to the sales girl and explained she checked the season card and said the following "Why have you come down.The card has been upgraded to an adult for Wednesday night"

So off I went home..a little bit mythed that I had made a journey when it wasn't required.

Last night - Walked up to Entrance N1 - My old dear tried to get in the ground..FUCKING CARD HADN'T BEEN ACTIVATED"!!!!!!!

Walked up to supporter services and they allowed my mum access after i had shown the receipt.

I am sorry but this is why so many blues are brassed off. The staff they are employing are just incompetent and it's need sorting...

Just to finish-had the pleasure to meet Danny Wilson at the Wigan game who asked me to call him to collect my Bayern ticket in person. Rang him up and he came down and ticket was delivered in an envelope with name,number on etc...
He is a very helpful guy and any fans with issues should email him at :-

I keep hearing how great Danny is, and I also keep experiencing crapness with the ticket office and the turnstile system, and hear about plenty more on here - all that being the case why does Danny not come on here and address the issue with all of us; this is the most used on-line City forum, it would be nice to hear you publically acknowledge that you appreciate there are a lot of concerns Danny, that you are listening to these ongoing and regular problems, and that the club is actually doing something about it.

On top of the other issues I was e mailed the other week that my seat in East Level 2 was not available as it was going to UEFA corporates - well after asking last night, it appears that my seat and those around it just went on open sale to normal fans and we all got moved for nothing, but apparently the same will happen again for all the other CL games.

Final point - I raised the concern with a ticket office supervisor by e mail about the fact that often for cup games my card had not worked and I have ended up taking an hour to get in the ground as there is usually 1 person with a machine surrounded by dozens of people unable to get in. The e mail I got back said all these problems had been sorted with a new system upgrade and would not happen this season - based on what I saw last night and what I have read in here, that e mail was just another load of ticket office bollocks. that is not what I was saying; it is when your card is activated but for some reason the scanner on the turnstile does not think it is, once that happens you are fucked, however many receipts you have got - I have shown them text messages, printed e mails, bank statements and even my fucking passport, but if your card does not work in the automated swipe system at the turnstile you have to find the bloke with the machine and wait for fucking ages to get it sorted

I am so glad that none of these problems have come my way. I always buy on-line and never have any of these problems. Closest I've come was the picking up of the Bayern away ticket - Couldn't get to ground till almost 6, a few stewards told me I would now have to wait till after game which I couldn't do due to time of train home. Once it became clear that I was going to ask TO anyway they sent me over to collections who sent me to TO, whose stewards tried to send me to collections. Once I finally got to a TO window it was sorted without a murmour and I got my ticket in seconds

Also had the same e-mails sent on the day I purchased them,early last week.

Didn't get the email but my cards wouldn't work, had to get that guy with the hand held thing to get me in.
