Time for Mark Hughes to resign.

After reading most the posts tonight I have concluded that some have become so accustomed to dire performances that after witnessing a performance with a bit of passion they have reacted by becoming overly optimistic.

Me I am gutted because I enjoyed these nights, and I know that next season we wont be in the competition, I am also gutted because it will affect the class of players we are after pre season, I am even more gutted that Hughes might still be in charge.

I see failure whilst others see progress.

Dunne should have been subbed - it was obvious he would have another red. Elano should not have been taken off either.

Who do we replace Dunne with. Kompany? thus causing problems for an already injured Zab in the midfield . Vinnie had also been booked, so just as likely to get a second yellow as Dunne as he would have still have to cover for Richards.

As for Elano he was out on his feet when he came off. Only thing I would have done was gone for it and put Petrov on for Elano and not the headless chicken Fernandes

i will tell you now, i have more chance of being manager than Hughes at the end of the season.

seriously man fuck off he made the right choices tonight, if anything he showed why he should be here, and for the most part im Hughes out but this has inspired me. He put a side out there that were capable of winning and almost did. You should hang your head in shame for that.

So one good game every maybe 10th game is good enough for you? Because that show you we have something to build on? Even the poorest team will have good games, and I belive the occasion and atmosphere played an important role today. He has done nothing to deserve another year imo.

Hughes is shite, he comes out with the same excuse about its not an overnight project and how his teams are stronger 2nd half of the season. How can you take £100 Million and manage 2 away wins in a season, its absolutely terrible and any other team with ambition would sack this waste of space.

it's been done to death....... fernandes for dunne before he got sent off. kompany was far less likely to get sent off because a: he thinks first and b: dunnie was on a very last warning from as long ago as the first half. then when zab got sent off, would have been elano back into midfield, sturridge upfront. when elano tired could have stuck rob in the hole, sturridge left, or petrov left, kompany steps out of defence, back three.... almost anything probably would have worked out better than the changes that were actually made.

the point is when dunne went off, hughes sacrificed a striker to keep a holding midfielder and back four. not great when you are one down and going out in 15 minutes time.
