Time to move the family stand

We have three tickets in the family stand, two concessions and one adult. When ever one of us couldnt go we would always take a friend or family member or on one occasion just give the tickets away. We also exchanged tickets cards easily with those arround us, now the club have made that much harder to do, we didnt do it the club did.

I understand what your saying we are in the same boat but once these people who use your spare ticket are on your f and f list we have found it easier getting tickets to them ,no messing about meeting up or returning the sesson card

I dont see that at games much arround me to be honest. Also why does it have to be hardcore singing area?
I'm making the point those that are moaning would they be happy with the little ones mixed in with the non family adults ? ,I felt guilty yesterday singing we never win at home as 2 little girls 8ish stared me out
I can imagine this morning their mother asking them to do something and the Reply being no ,I don't give a fuck :+)

The Family Stand is getting scapegoated. The South Stand was like the Marie Celeste with 5 minutes to go, yesterday.

Single issue solutions won’t significantly improve the atmosphere, I’m afraid. We are lucky that 1894 continue to try to improve things.

If North Stand Level1 was turned into Safe Standing then I think it would be worth giving Supporters Club Branches first call on those tickets to try to generate more support for the lads. That’s the best chance we’ve got of having two more vocal ends IMHO.

Don’t really think safe standing will be the silver bullet on atmosphere no matter where you put it. If it’s being rolled out from January onwards it’s £42 in the South Stand safe standing section to watch Brentford in February.

We thought bringing standing back may bring some reduction in ticket prices and maybe bring back some of the blues who have been priced out of going. It appears from initial pricing it more than likely won’t and the club won’t have any variance in whether you are seated or standing on cost.

The athletics stadium
Not the worst idea in the world….but why not use the academy stadium? Beam back every game there (apart from early cup games) make it a real family focused event that’s really cheap (£5-£10) mascots, giveaways, player/ex player appearances, half time penalty shootouts/or other competitions, maybe even tie it in with some football coaching for Sat/Sun afternoon games. We already have the infrastructure to facilitate it and it would ensure the next generation are watching City & do have that connection from an early age

True, but you dont have to join in every song.

Is people problems with the family stand the no shows or the lack of singing. I would say the singing isnt much if any worse than CB1 or any of the L2 stands? Just my perception.

I'd move the family stand to where u sit and then you relocate for a change. Stop believing the myth that its only the Family stand have issues. Did you see the amount of no shows in the south stand today ??

Stop being silly Stu, whether you're being serious or not?

The club aren't going move the family stand, parents and kids, next to the away fans. Can YOU imagine the outcome. Leeds would have had a field day, not to mention United, Liverpool, etc.

And if the club did move the family stand to SSL1 on your advice, I and a probable majority currently in SSL1 would move to NSL1, where the family stand used to be. Straight swap.

Stop deluding yourself and being in denial that there isn't an issue after all these years of countless empty seats in the family stand. There is.

I'll be honest. I didn't go to the match yesterday. My sister is with me for Christmas. She has mental health issues and learning difficulties. I can't leave her on her own. I have a duty of care for her.

I watched the match. I can tell you now, there where nowhere near as many empty seats in SSL1 as there where in the family stand. Fact! There were blocks/rows of empty seats, varying in size and amounts, in the family stand, clearly visible.
