Tokyo 2020 Olympics/Paralympics

I didn't see the final, but I saw her in qualifying and she didn't look right then. Still excellent, but she made mistakes on a number of her performances, which suggests that she was struggling. There's every chance that she didn't feel right after the qualifying and decided to see how it went in the final. When it was obvious she was still having problems, she pulled out to give the team the best chance of winning.

We all know what a difference mental health and mental focus can make to sports people's performances. Just look at the transformation of John Stones. And let's not forget, she's not exactly young in gymnastics terms. Most of the other finalists were in their mid to late teens. She's 26. It's very difficult for anyone to keep going for that long at the very highest level.
This is why she with drew , she has big mental health struggles

Unbelievable race in the rowing, lightweight sculls I think, lost out on bronze by 0.01 of a second, ridiculous.

We've won so many medals already but we've missed out on quite a few too.

I feel like we've had a few 4th place finishes in the rowing. Just not quite their year.

Honestly the half assed coverage of the Olympics has really killed the interest this time around.

What are we 6 days in now? Yet there's less posts on here for the whole Olympics than the British Grand Prix a few weeks back.

Fuck the IOC for going straight to Discovery, selling the coverage and hiding all the minor sports behind a pay wall.

With the popular sports like football, tennis etc you can see how they get away with putting them on pay TV because the demand for them is still big.

But think of all the minor sports that get their one chance every 4 years with the Olympics to showcase their sport to a much larger audience than they normally get. How are kids meant to be inspired by the Olympics when they can't watch most of the events?

Don’t think they’re missing much. I just watched us lose another event in the dying seconds of the game (Rugby). It’s like the Taekwondo all over again.
