Toni Kroos

WHY?

Modric is absolutely world class. Ask anyone in Spain, whether Kroos can compare to Modric.

Modric is an midfield boss, while Kroos is like Juan Mata. Excellent in his passing and set piece delivery, while being invisible defensively. Both lack physicality in the midfield and if you think Yaya toure slags off, watch Toni Kroos play, because he has been like that since he was young. The other problem with Kroos is going against a team like the Spurs that press the hell out of you. His dribbling is subpar and when pressed, he would concede possession very easiliy (similar to KDB).

When Mata was putting up those stats for Chelsea, I always knew Silva was significantly a better player than Mata regardless of his goal/assist output. Watch David Silva play.

He shields the ball, keeps possession of the ball and retains the ball... Kroos can keep possession, but shield and retain he does not.
 
Kroos is the only player out there other than pogba that can completely replace yaya. He is decent defensively, the best passer in the world and has an eye for goal. Mobile and versatile, he is world class and we should go all out for him. Him and pogba, well... the prem is fucked :-)
 
Kroos is to lazy. Whenever I watch Real he just seems to walk around. We need all around midfield players, like Verratti.

Yaya's not my favourite player as everyone knows but fuck me, Kroos at his best is still nowhere near Yaya at his peak 3-4 years ago. Kroos in the Premier League I just can't imagine, he's too soft, doesn't seem up for a fight which on occasions you need to be in English football. Unreal ability but we've seen this year that can only get you so far.

Kroos to me is the German Carrick. I really don't consider him a Yaya replacement. And if it was a choice btw Modric and Kroos, I'd take Modric if it wasn't for his age. Modric is a far more adaptable player, and probably the best CM Madrid has.

Thing is we're also linked with gundogan.
A midfield 3 of Pogba gundogan and kroos will be one of the best midfield 3 in the world offensively but I'd be more confident defensively if we had someone like Xhaka or similar sitting in front of the back 4 than, especially in the prem.

I'll still be buzzing though if we got all 3.

This summer should be interesting
 
Kroos definatly has qualities, but there are also aspects which he really lacks.
Speed, power, dynamics, defense, goal threat, creativity.
His strengths are that he barely is injured and his amazing passing ability as well as his ball security.
If you have him in midfield you need to partner him with players that make up for his lack of traits. At Bayern I'd pick Vidal & Thiago.
However, I think Gündogan is the far better player, because he's more complete.

Agree with this in its entirety.
 
Surely Pep knows the qualities of Kroos. If he signs him then he must have a plan for the team's defensive aspect. Mustn't he?
 
Much rather have Verratti or Gundogan. Good player but I just don't think he'll do great here when you clearly need more than passing ability to thrive.
