Someone with sense finally. I think a lot of you guys have forgotten where you came from, the Champions League isn't a game changer for a club like United when you know we'll be back in it soon enough.

You managed to sign quality players without anything near as much an international reputation like ours, same with PSG & Monaco. We can't, erm, why?

You couldn't sign anyone when you had just won the league and were in CL football

And now you think that because you have a decent manager, the worlds finest are going to come flocking

I thought players came to United because you're the 'biggest club in the world' and for all your 'history'

Not just because now you have a decent manager :)

We made a mess of it, and to be honest Moyes was never a name that players were going to like, completely unproven.

Not saying it'll be easy, but if you could sign players when you were mid-table and completely unheard of, we'll be able to do so.

I take it you weren't one of the United fans that were saying that we were 'buying success' then

You made a mess of it because the clown doing your transfer business hasn't got a clue how to his job, guess what he's still there

How the tide has turned, eh?

Even if they get Kroos, the scum arguably need:
2 more centre mids
A left winger
A left back
2/3 centre halves
and a right back, either to cover Rafael who's permanently injured or to replace him
So that's 8/9 players overall. The summer mr prodigy is one about, we signed
Yaya Toure £25m
David Silva £22m
James Milner £18m+Ireland
Aleks Kolarov £16m
Jerome Boateng £10m
Mario Balotelli £24m
and then added Edin Dzeko for £27m in the January transfer window to add to a young hungry squad that had finished 5th on an upwards curve under Mancini, the following season we finished 3rd on 71 points, level with Chelsea who also had 71 points in 2nd.
That's £142m spent in a less inflated market with 2 flops who are no longer here and a player who's only recently come good (Kolarov) and we struck gold with Silva and Yaya, we were incredibly lucky getting them for the money that we got them for. All we had to do was catch Spurs or Arsenal to finish in the top 4.
This is going to be a long way from easy for you lot.

No,we do know with Robben.

Why the f**k would he give up his last couple of years for a club with no European football in a rebuilding phase? Has he form for loyalty and enthusiasm?Like hell he has, he's a stone cold businessman when its come to his career.

You've more chance of us selling Yaya and Kun to the rags then you have of Robben playing for a non champions league team.

Give over.

We managed to get players like silva and Robinho in a re building phase with no champions league football. It's all about money if they offer them ridiculous wages they will move. Add in the fact they have a good manager now

Three letters.

I've heard a lot of people use the signings of Yaya and Silva as some kind of saving grace for United this summer

If you look at it in hindsight, these two are arguably two of the best signings we have ever made considering the amounts paid

But at the time we were taking huge gambles on two players that weren't anywhere near the level they are at now. Silva was a nice, intricate footballer that many weren't sure if he was suited to English football. And Yaya was a defensive midfielder, often playing centre back, who was no longer required by Barca. These two signings could quite easily have turned out to be Lamela and Soldado type signings where they just didn't seem to settle in English football.

Yaya and Silva have blossomed in their time at City, and both have become top class players and vital for our team.

It doesn't mean to say that players like this are always available when you finish outside of Europe. We took punts on two players that 'could' have become top players, but they were far from the level they are at now when we actually signed them.

So basically, Karl Heinz will allow 3 of his coveted players to just up and leave in the summer?

All to manyooooo?

You reckon?

Well mandzukic is nailed on to leave, was dropped for the final and they don't play him as much, Kroos yes I can see that happening and robben you never know,

No,we do know with Robben.

Robben and Müller would be van Gaal transfers - they top his list. Kroos is a United transfer...

But Robben and Müller who have their special relationship with van Gaal have special relationships with Bayern, too. Robben who before never has prolonged a contract and was a vagabund - just has prolonged his contract a second time. If he would have liked to go he would have 2 years ago after the lost CL final when his situation in Munich was very difficult. But today? He is more teamplayer than ever - on and off the pitch. Loved by the fans etc. Relatively injury free. Robben probably will end his career at Bayern - or play at Bayern as long as he can play it on that level and then end it with a year or two in the Netherlands.

Kroos - is no fan love. A lot fans think that we won the CL because he got injured - like this Heynckes had to start to play both Müller and Robben again - he would never have skipped his project "Kroos".

I dont think Muller is an impossible target, but with Robben they've got no chance IMO.

What's the general opinion amongst fans with regards to Pep's "tika-taka" approach, may I ask?

I keep reading "stories" of how certain players are not overly keen on it (think Muller may even have been one of them), but of course you can never trust the media!

Personally, I much preferred watching the Heynckes Bayern over this Pep one.

Ribery doesn't seem quite as effective. They've still had a great season though. Runaway Champions, and Cup winners, and CL semi-finalists. They fell short in one tie.

I hope Kroos stays at Bayern.

To me it looks like the rags are buying players to get them back into the champs lge with kroos and shaw there at the same stage we were 5 years ago anyone who thinks there gonna be genuine title contenders next season are blinkered!

1. We're talking about a particular player, Arjen Robben. An egotist(and talented to the level to justify being one) who will only play at the highest level. 2. He has won everything England has to offer domestically.
3.FFP now means there's no re-sale value and wages would be too high to justify moving for him.
4.He isn't like Silva,Robinho or Yaya. He's in the twilight of his career. He doesn't have 2 years to waste on a project, which like it or not is what United are now. That's the kind of move he'll make when he's no longer good enough to play at Bayern.
5. If he is to move(and he wont) it would either be to a)a European league where he can win a trophy he hasn't won yet or b) a title contender.

So that's why Robben wont sign. But yeah, convince yourself otherwise that he'll sign for the history or United are a big club or some such nonsense, when everything I've listed above makes perfect sense in Robben's case.
