I have a couple of questions for the lefties.
why if the thatcher government did wrong to shut the pits why didn't labour re open them when in power?
if the thatcher governments policies were so wrong why did labour not reverse them?
I mean they had enough time to do so.
I know you will say tone was a tory but surely his mp's had a say.

Can someone explain to me (short version) why some people hate Thatcher so much? Our media over here makes it sound like she pulled, what was considered one of the worst countries in Europe at the time, out of the mud and turned England into the 4th biggest economy in the world.

Because some of us lefties can see the bigger picture without being a massive twat in the process. Yes, things needed changing but I was struck by a comment yesterday; 'she was great at dismantling but she was at a loss as what to do after that...,'
