Rick Holden for us.
For others, who was the bloke souness bought because he was a good players cousin or something?
Think this is who you're thinking of sheikhs;

How did Souness fall for it?

Nigel Clough usually gets missed off these lists. Given the reputation he came with he was a truly awful signing.
Very good Gordandaviesmoustache your right he was a waste money. I remember City found it hard to get rid of him when we were in the 3rd division.

For the top 3 transfer mistakes are:

Maicon, Sinclair and Santa Cruz

maicon costed peanuts, he was also injured through much of the season, he couldn't really show us what he's capable of.

sinclair isn't a big issue either, only 6 million, we can get most of that money back.

For me its:

1. Adebayor
2. Robinho
3. Javi Garcia

Maicon was on £100,000 a week, i would have to go for,

1, Santa Cruz
2, Matheus Veloso (next Diego Forlan) proved to be but not for goals.
3, Danny Mills

A clear winner is santa cruz, many of us were pleading the transfer would fall through, that price tag was just a joke. His career here turned out as expected. what a waste of money.

You could say robinho too, for the outlay. people may say it started the ball rolling with him being the marqee signing but we would have signed someone else in the next window that would have been more suited to the team and our impact around the world.

samaras. blew our kitty on him :-(

Haha. That's the fella. The only difference between his footy skills and mine when I played in the pub league is that he didn't have a can at half time and have a piss against a tree.

Santa Cruz, Bradbury, and Steve Daley
These 3 for me - with Nigel Clough very close 4th.
Did that Mexican - Vuoso - ever play for us.? I think he must have been "related" to Keegan....????
