Want to see the back of Tevez - but certainly dont want to see the arrival of Torres - as much as anything I wouldn't want to look at his 'long slapped arse face' he seems to wear these days.

No. He's been absolute shit for 2 years now. And we're not talking about a bit of a scoring drought shit, we're talking actual dogshit. No pace left whatsoever. It's really something when he does one or two good things in a match, maybe gets an assist and apparently Torres is back.
I'll put good money on him never returning to the kind of player he was. I reckon Liverpool knew he was crocked.

Forget Torres at Liverpool. Consider him based on his year at chelsea and i don't think anyone would have him.
Then name me a player who was an average at best player for a year who suddenly rediscovered form.

Not really. I can't recall anyone being world class for 3 or 4 years then been poor for a year and then back to world class. The situation reminds me of Shevchenko where every thought he would be back at some point as he was too good not to be. Fact was he wasnt good enough anymore.

Think Torres would be great at City. He and Aguero would kill teams with their movement.
Also he would get the service from Silva, who would be desperate to get him back to his best as it would boost the Spanish squad.

Watching Torres on Sunday,he still posesses awesome ability,like the above posts suggest,i'm of the opinion if he receives improved service from the likes of Silva and Nasri then i believe he could rediscover his old form.
It just aint working for him at Chelski so this deal could be a winner for all.

Look this is a myth. Its been over a year now and he's scored six goals (but the stats say three, I'm sure its six in all comps). This, from a world class striker? He's still scored more goals AGAINST Chelsea than for them. Physically he's fine. He's not quite as fast as he used to be but his agility, balance, movement and pace are still there (though his acceleration isn't as explosive).Thorpiemcfc said:

Not to mention that Sturridge, Mata, Ramires and Lampard have all been scoring in the same team with the same strengths and weaknesses. Mata in particular sets Torres up all the time with the kind of balls he likes, but he doesn't take the shot or messes around with it for so long that the defence can shut him down. I think all the goals he's scored for us so far have been in situations where he didn't have the time to think. Look at the miss at United for instance, with all the time he had, against the one he scored which was done on instinct.LoveCity said:

Just looks like he is fed up and has his head down all the time, feel bad for him because 2 years ago he was the best striker in the PL when fit, (IMO of course) and even at his age I still think he can come back, probably will go abroad though, possibly MLS even.
Look at that. What kind of service is that? Long ball to him while he's being humped by two CB's. People go on about us having to play a precise throughball with the goal keeper reading a magazine in the corner while the CB's are chatting up the local strange by the touchline for him to have the "proper service". Its all bullshit. He just isn't that player any more and nothing would make me happier than him returning to HALF that good. Its just a tragedy.
He's just lost it, I think. When you watch him play there's no confidence about his game, no swagger, he's just a shadow of his former self. It's a shame because he was a such a great player only a few years ago.
