Tough start to the season compared to our rivals | December comparison (Pg10)

The tough start is not a coincidence in my opinion. The powers in charge deliberately tried to give their red favourites a head start hoping we would go so far behind that it would demoralize us. Did we play Chelsea and Liverpool away before and after PSG in the Champions League? That was just a joke and to me a clear attempt of sabotaging our season. Well guess what you FA fuckers. It didn't work.
Fuck me. Do people genuinely believe this?

All the big away wins and the draw have needed deflections, Foxes, Leicester, Liverpool and Utd, and some easy chances were missed. We won't always get the luck and need to be more clinical.

It's been a bit of a weird season so far. As OP says, we've got nearly all of our toughest away games out of the way early and are still 3 points from top. But we've also dropped points in home games you'd expect us to do better in. If I remember correctly, that trend has continued from last year across the league where the accepted thinking was the lack of away crowds made those games easier. As with last year, our run till Christmas now becomes critical. We've all but qualified from the CL, so can get our heads down and really put some points on the board and see if other clubs can keep up with us.

It's wild isn't it. Particularly when you could take the same info - City got all the hard away games out of the way early - and actually make the point it's good for us. But I've probed it before, and people really, truly do believe that the Premier League (somehow always incorrectly described as the FA) sit and plot out ways to stop City progressing by giving them the same games they'd always have to play, but in a "harder" order.

Quite unbelievable really.

The way I look at it is everyone plays everyone twice. Home and away. It’s that straightforward.

We have got our supposed hard games out of the way, the away legs, and it’s only mid November.

We got what we deserved. It wasn't luck.

If you insist to think that way, then you may say we were unlucky to score just once vs Chelsea, to fail to score vs PSG, to not get a pen or a red card for Milner at Anfield, to not score vs Spurs, Southampton, Palace and WHam.

When you dominate the opposition and force it to defend in its box, you get sometimes lucky deflections. And you miss chances. That's football.

Unfortunately the trend in football appears to be moving towards teams picking up more points away from home than at home !! So maybe we've still got all our hardest games to come

There can't be such a trend with crowds at the grounds.
