Transfer Strategy

We only really tried for one and he didn’t go anywhere else. We had an half hearted look at ronaldo, but never really committed. to it.
Did we really try for him though?

Pep said they refused to sell, we didn’t enter negotiations and didn’t even make a bid?

Struggling to think why we wouldn’t think Trippier is an option. Probably available for around £25m. Can play on both sides. Plenty of assists. Would count as academy grown. This seems the definition of a no brainer.
If he was a LB sure, but we’ve got Walker and Cancelo so I don’t really see the need for him

Yes we tried. Bids don’t go in until a fees agreed , Pep said Levy wouldn’t negotiate, I take that he wouldn’t listen not we didn’t try.

So levy refused to enter negotiations…so what did we we actually do? That’s not a rhetorical question either, I’m struggling to understand what we actually did?

As soon as we realised (probably weeks ago) that a transfer wouldn’t happen we should’ve moved straight on to our next choice

We didn’t realise weeks ago, we thought Kane would get Spurs to come to to the table. Apparently last week we gave a take it or leave it figure then walked away. We didn’t rush to leave it because apparently nobody was available we or Pep wanted as an alternative.

It’s been at least two weeks since Kane did his bit and no showed for training and it did nothing. We should’ve moved on ages ago.

It’s just how it is right now, hardly any strikers available. Not sure why we didn’t try for Lukaku, maybe too interested in Kane. But beyond them anyone half decent was never on the market, Ings was about the best which says it all really.

I don’t know if there’s anyone playing on the continent who may be persuaded to sign, but probably not anyone good enough to really improve us. Who’s the next best striker in Germany after Lewandowski and Haaland? Whoever it is, is he better than Torres?
