It’s just how it is right now, hardly any strikers available. Not sure why we didn’t try for Lukaku, maybe too interested in Kane. But beyond them anyone half decent was never on the market, Ings was about the best which says it all really.

I don’t know if there’s anyone playing on the continent who may be persuaded to sign, but probably not anyone good enough to really improve us. Who’s the next best striker in Germany after Lewandowski and Haaland? Whoever it is, is he better than Torres?

No idea who it is but apparently we are struggling for goals and despite there being no obvious candidates we need to beat our chests and demand some rabbits out of hats.

If we didn’t even have a 2nd choice then whoever is in charge of player recruitment is even more incompetent than I thought.

As they obviously aren’t incompetent, nor is one person in charge of player recruitment. Most likely scenario for me no player was available as second choice that Pep thought improved his team. As it seems pep was driving the Kane thing, he could have suggested a n alternative or had alternatives suggested that he approved and I’m sure the club would have tried. The fact we didn’t suggests he didn’t.

It isn’t if what you have is better than whats available. Torres and Jesus are both better than most shortlists I’ve seen offered on these threads.
