Transfer Strategy

Mac Allister is probably the only ‘name’ I’ve seen so far. Rumblings are a month or two away with our lot though
Mac Allister is decent but the problem is Brighton are more likely to rinse us and are probably not going to listen to low ball offers (latest example is Caicedo and Arsenal)

We have lost a lot of pace in the squad and most on here seem to think it is up front where it is required. To me, I reckon that pace is needed defensively (think Keith Curle) and in central midfield as the majority of our problems occur when teams sit deep and attack on the counter.

Whoever we buy.....Pep will beat any natural flair out if them by ensuring they rarely show any inclination to drive forward or play the early ball, while mastering the art of negativity and tedium.

Seriously, spend 100mil on Alphonso Davies if that’s what it takes. Even Cancelo was bought as a RB. We have 4 great CBs but the injuries and rotation is killing us.
Why would Davies want to come here and play in some clapped up inverted role when he has license to maraude up and down the left flank for Bayern?

i dont think generally gomez was a bad signing as he was coming into replace Zinchenko who started 10 games last year. The issue with left back is weve never really had a quality left back and thats the issue.

i think squad needs a bit of a big refresh personally. Id get rid of any player who has doubts about being here.
That might be a big list...

Im a bit done with a lot of it and totally ready for refresh overhall what ever you want to call it.

if i was txiki id get rid of any player who doesnt want to be here or has doubts about being here.

Defenders

Laporte, bernie, gundo, cancelo would all be gone imo. I wouldnt also begrudge cashing in on ake with his performaces this year wed get a decent fee.

My choice would be gvaridol for cb (laporte fee and ake fee would likley cover it) that way have ruben and gvaridol as main cbs with stones and akanji as back ups.

Id fetch 2 left backs in robinson from fulham who cant be too expensive with 1 year left on his deal. Maybe guerreiro/grimaldo.

if walker wants to go it would be adios although i wouldnt want him to leave yet and he would be replaced imo with rico as back up to learn.

Midfielders

Bernie would be gone fed up of the wanting to go and even more so recently speaking to press about it more. Id personally swap him with frenkie at barcelona. that way he gets his move and we get a player cz barca are useless at paying for players.

gundo thank you for your service but on your way for me. Hes been a great servant and i would welcome him back as/when he wants to start his coaching career.

bellingham would be signed. And Phil would start his transition into midfield as its about time he started playing there. Love kev but he cant play every week.

Forwards

id sign two pacy wingers. Dont really have a preference but a right footed one and a left footed one. Palmer i would loan to allow him to gain confidence and play regularly to find out if he is the quality to replace mahrez.
All good points but not going to happen. Gvardiol's not coming here and neither is Bellingham.

Which is why we should buy Mitoma.

We could have a winger that has the intelligence to hug the touchline and take players down the line and also pick up positions in between the full back and centre back and play in the pockets too.

Him or Kvaratskelia could be perfect for Pep.

What we have currently on the wings is clearly not working and I'm sure Pep can see this.
Kvara is not coming here. Spaletti allows him to play in a manner that suits his abilities in a very strong side. Why would he want to come to City and have Pep put him in a cage? Sorry, but this is going to be told to any top creative player by clubs competing with us for their services. Players have eyes and they watch games. To win trophies? These guys are already winning trophies and we're no longer a sure bet to do so. Last year we were 15 minutes from going trophy-less and this year we may not get any.

Really hope so but don't see us spending big on several signings. We seem to sweat every signing right to end of the contract. Hopefully the sad faces leave, Bernado, Laporte, Gundo, Cancelo and we can get on with some replacements.
