TV Series

Watching Dexter for the first time, very nice show (although he should have been picked up by the cops in the second season. From the second season the show writers went for more grand moments instead of realism)

Tried watching Sopranos, it felt like a parody of mob movies, very poorly written show with cheesy characters and the special effects and toy guns used? You would expect the props team to acquire more realistic looking props or at least get the camera team to avoid close-up shots with scenes involving fire arms. This show was done in the late 90's / early 2000's, I have seen movies from the 70's and 80's with better props. If you are ever interested in watching the sopranos, just watch some of the decent highlights on Youtube, at the same time if you ever wanted to see how flawed the show is, you can also do that on Youtube, so many laughable moments there.

Now to the more recent shows:
The King of war (Jason Momoa), great show
Alien Earth, I am trying to get into it but it's just not working
Deli boys, funny show, feels like the inbetweeners but with Americans and a more older cast. Just turn your brain off and watch it for the fun of it.

Watching 'Smoke' - about 6 episodes in currently.

First couple were a bit slow and it was only the visuals and fire that kept me watching. But things have improved, the acting is very good and so is the script. There is a lot of depth and darkness to the characters which is making it a gripping watch.

Been doing Dexter myself over last couple of months or so, started last series last night. Any one know if the spin offs are worth a watch?

Proper lol at your Sopranos comments. Must go back to watch for the ‘flaws’.

I always liked Midsommer Murders, always got me how such a sleepy village was so dangerous. A criminologist did a calculation and found that per capita, the village of Midsommer has a murder rate higher than places like Mexico City and the slums of Johannesburg. One minute, a little old lady is thanking the vicar for a lovely lemon sponge cake, next she admits to killing more people than a Californian serial killer.

I used to love the street by jimmy Mcgovern, fancied watching it again, but can't find it anywhere, any fellow blues know where I could find it?
By coincidence we binged watched the 3 series a few weeks ago as we’d never seen it before.
Love all Jimmy McGovern stuff, now watching Accused.

It's one of those light hearted English shows like Death in Paradise, Call the Midwife etc.
Seemed aimed at little old ladies :)

Watched the first episode of hostage on Netflix. Im usually someone who will stick things out once I start it but in a very rare instance, I dont think i'll be bothering with this, just far too preposterous for it to be even remotely plausible. does it improve?

As a side note, i've not really been using Netflix recently so the layout change is new to me, is it universally accepted that the new layout its fucking horrendous? What the hell was they thinking green lighting that? Stinks of people with no work to do creating work to keep themselves busy. It genuinely makes me not want to even bother scrolling through.

Owwwwww

Did you watch the 'flaws' on YouTube before watching the show?

I'd suggest anyone who has not watched it yet not to take your advice on board about just watching highlights on you tube.

I'd watch the 'flaws' video but to be honest I've got my own fucking problems.

Madone!

Just finished the first season of a show called 'Downton Abbey'. Absolutely loving it so far, would recommend it.

Time for some gabagool!

Me and the Mrs found and watched True Detective series 1 a few weeks ago. Absolutely brilliant.

Skipped series 2 and 3 and went straight to series 4. What have I just seen ffs! What a crock. Its supposed to be about detectives but it was woke saturated, virtue signalling, shallow, corny, racist, sexist, boring relationships drama with no actual relationship to the original series. I found myself waiting and waiting for the actual story to re-emerge from all the mental breakdowns and people finding themselves.

Some good performances though, but some bad characters, not sure what they were thinking but it doesnt to seem to have been the art of making good TV.
Did you ever go back and watch series 2 and 3 ?
They were both great

Nope, it was one of those moments where you watch something and you are like "Wait, am I the only one noticing this?" and then you find out that there's a hand full of people who picked up on it as well. Don't get me wrong, mob movies or shows are my favourite (watch BoardWalk Empire) but it has to be done well or else it ends up looking like a parody. Tony Soprano was the best thing on that show

As for Madone?
