TV Series

Me and the Mrs found and watched True Detective series 1 a few weeks ago. Absolutely brilliant.

Skipped series 2 and 3 and went straight to series 4. What have I just seen ffs! What a crock. Its supposed to be about detectives but it was woke saturated, virtue signalling, shallow, corny, racist, sexist, boring relationships drama with no actual relationship to the original series. I found myself waiting and waiting for the actual story to re-emerge from all the mental breakdowns and people finding themselves.

Some good performances though, but some bad characters, not sure what they were thinking but it doesnt to seem to have been the art of making good TV.
Each to their own but I enjoyed all 4 of the series, since they're all standalone (with some links between them) you definitely need to watch 2 & 3 if you liked series 1 at least.

Finished watching an exceptional drama series last night: Pam and Tommy.

It’s about the Pamela Anderson sex tape.

Quite extraordinary how the makers were able to base an eight episode drama on such flimsy, prurient material. But the way they did it was brilliant.

It’s amusing too. One running theme is a send up of flakey Hollywood New Age beliefs.

Never had any interest in Baywatch or Mötley Crüe but none is necessary to enjoy it.

It’s available to stream on ITVx.

Just walked into the living room after a day of football misery and the Wife has got ‘cooking with the stars’ on, featuring “Ian Wrights Son”. SWP. A least a bit of effort from a City player on TV today.

The Offer. Mini series about the making of The Godfather film. I'll watch the last episode some time today. Really enjoyed.

Watched the first episode of hostage on Netflix. Im usually someone who will stick things out once I start it but in a very rare instance, I dont think i'll be bothering with this, just far too preposterous for it to be even remotely plausible. does it improve?

As a side note, i've not really been using Netflix recently so the layout change is new to me, is it universally accepted that the new layout its fucking horrendous? What the hell was they thinking green lighting that? Stinks of people with no work to do creating work to keep themselves busy. It genuinely makes me not want to even bother scrolling through.
Yes I gave it about 20 minutes until the bit when the French PM said she wanted to have Frog plod based in the UK to stop migrants coming over.

'The Terminal List: Dark Wolf'.

3 episode drop. Nearly lost me in the first episode. Same BS I've seen before and almost decided this wasn't going to suit my viewing interests.

However, I will say it picks up in 2 and 3. It's not different than anything that's gone before it, but there's watchable backstory leading to 'The Terminal List' itself. Interesting 'Bondesque' team set up, though, which kept me onboard.

Not afraid to bin it off, but will stick with it for now.

if by 'improve' you mean, gets more ridiculous...then it does. Suranne Jones gets away with another one...

I got half way through the first episode on Saturday night and just wasn't in the mood for it at all. Will keep an eye on how it goes for you, bud.
