I was in 118 with plenty of BMG fans around who were polite and well-behaved. The biggest twat on view was a neanderthal City fan, face contorted with rage, threatening three decent lads who had the temerity to moderately celebrate their equaliser.
I'm not sure what the club is supposed to do. I think they may have expected ticket sales to home fans in the home end to have been better than they were and therefore to have left little room for problems. I wonder what the reaction would have been if the club had tried to move home fans in the South Stand to accommodate the larger away following. Not too compliant I suspect. Either way, the situation being as it was, it passed off relatively quietly and most of the affected home fans behaved with decorum and grace.
Like I said I've got no issue with away fans buying tickets in the home end, but they probably shouldn't sell them in the 'singing section' for one, and the away fans shouldn't celebrate like mad and start giving two fingers to the blues around them. If they were polite and well behaved like the ones around you in 118 then I would say fair play they did nothing wrong and blues were sore losers (at that point). But they weren't, I'm assuming it was down to them being so close to their own fans and feeling more comfortable giving it the big'un, cause they stopped goading us when a few handbags were swung.
I think it's an issue the club should research, like you said it probably wouldn't go down well having to move home fans to accommodate more away fans in the CL, much like in the cup. But if it's going to happen again in the future, it's definitely something that needs to be organised better.
