Two faced city fans

Its not bollocks though its common sense. You may prefer it not to be like that in an ideal world but it is. I cant go to an away match, in the away end, shout my gob off and then whilst Im getting my head stoved in say to myself "it shouldnt be like this". Well I could do, but then a big part of me would think "but why did i shout my gob off". We have all been to loads of away games in the wrong end, wanting to celebrate, but if you've got one, your brain kicks in and you think "I'll leave it till later". Its just common sense really.
It might well be common sense, but only because you know that there are idiots around who can't handle it

Yes I'm aware of that, but surely there is some way of determining who is buying the tickets. I know it's something that has been questioned before as many non-city fans have managed to get tickets in our end home and away. If it was just a couple of fans in that block that had bought tickets then fair enough, but it was 40 or so fans in one corner right next to the away fans. And as stated above by ninjamonkey, they were all wearing colours, and weren't hiding the fact that they were away fans, they simply shouldn't have been allowed to get in.

I was in 118 with plenty of BMG fans around who were polite and well-behaved. The biggest twat on view was a neanderthal City fan, face contorted with rage, threatening three decent lads who had the temerity to moderately celebrate their equaliser.

I'm not sure what the club is supposed to do. I think they may have expected ticket sales to home fans in the home end to have been better than they were and therefore to have left little room for problems. I wonder what the reaction would have been if the club had tried to move home fans in the South Stand to accommodate the larger away following. Not too compliant I suspect. Either way, the situation being as it was, it passed off relatively quietly and most of the affected home fans behaved with decorum and grace.

I sit in 115 and saw it all. I've got no problem if you sit in our end, don't really care if you celebrate it's only natural that a fan does cheer a goal, but as soon as you put two fingers up and start giving it the big un' you deserve anything you get back.

Correct, although if a home fan didn't respond to me sat next to him and hurling abuse at him and his team, Id also think that maybe he should watch it at home.

Seems the club are more concerned with shifting tickets than the safety of City fans. Maybe EUFA will have something to say on it now.

No chance mate. I consider abusive insults against England, my football team, and threats to my wellbeing after the game to be just a tad disrespectful and provocative. You obviously had a better class of fan near you, great. But please don't sneer at those of who didn't, and decided to give it back both barrels. Yeah, Ive been away plenty too thanks and on the whole our fans have been class.

Where am I "Sneering" exactly?

I've said I can only speak of the fans who were sat around me, who were passionate but respectful.

As for you doing plenty of European aways and not witnessing any anti social behaviour from City fans, you're either:-

1. Very, very fortunate to have avoided it.
2. Being economical with the truth to substantiate your argument.

Either way, I'll stand by my original comment. When it comes to an opponent celebrating a goal, from my experience Austrians, Germans & Spanish etc are more tolerant than the English.

I honestly don't get the fuss. They sat in our end, gave it out big style, we gave it back with bonuses, we loved the last ten minutes, they left with tails between their legs. We can debate whether they should have behaved better, what the club did wrong etc etc but come on fellas it was brilliant !! One of the best nights in a long time.

If they are away fans ( regardless of the completion ) and stewards realise this then they should be escorted out of the stadium.
I don't care about people on here saying they were doing no harm and blaming city fans for being aggressive.
If they are not there, or keep a low profile , there is no problem .
segregated areas for home and away fans are not there for the fun of it. about 20 stewards doing a makeshift segregation area at the bottom ( for about 20 BMG fans) of the south stand . is not acceptable. They should have been kicked out .
Just because it doesn't bother you doesn't mean it doesn't bother anyone else . All you pc fuckers with you're new views on how football grounds should be , had better remember that there is still a very large element of fans that have been going since the seventies and eighties and certain things are not accepted .
The club is lucky in the fact that most of the annoyed blues realise that the ground is full of cameras otherwise it could turn really nasty

posted about this in the psot match thread but it's more appropriate here. I sit in 114 next to the barrier it was completely surrounded by gladbach fans and as city fans moved over to 115 more gladbach fans appeared in 114. there was 6 of us that refused to move and stayed in our seats completely surrounded by gladbach fans and second half ended up in the makeshift away end as police and stewards blocked off the stairs at 114/115.

The police told us to move, we refused, they agreed we shouldn't have to move and they were not going to force us but basically said you're on your own if it kicks off around you. The most ridiculous thing was stopping them from climbing over to the away side at halftime, that's all they wanted to do but police let them. Spoke to several stewards at the barrier at halftime they all agreed with me when i said surely it's best to have them over there than in the home end with the most vocal fans but people higher up had said no and were trying to figure out a plan.

Have to say, for those moaning about the Gladbach fans, There was no antagonising near me, they simply joined in with their teams songs and had no interest in other people or causing trouble. I went absolutely mental when we went ahead, screaming in their faces and not a single one around me even remotely threatened to kick off with me. They were all very pleasant.

It kicked off when they scored because of city fans not gladbach, understandable considering they were in our end but i blame the pathetic organisation and security from City, the stewards and the police rather than the fans themselves. was also a lot city fans launching bottles and other things into 114, i know because i had to dodge most of them.

Most of them were wearing gladbach merchandise how the hell were they allowed entry into the home end in the first place when they are not even trying to hide the fact they are away fans?

when they equalised some of that small group at the front of 115 started to mock the city fans in the same stand, that was always going to get a reaction. I don't agree with city fans taking the bait but it was stupid from a few young gladbach fans to take the piss.

The organisation was piss poor and I think that's what annoyed a lot of the fans more.

Given your obvious disdain for City fans maybe start supporting an Austrian, German or Spanish club ? Sounds like you'd enjoy it more.
