Two minors suspended by club for offensive chanting at Brighton game | 17 year old charged by GMP (p29)

New charge incoming.

The players passing should be respected but this attack by the league is disingenuous and gives us a tiny glimpse into how they view MCFC.

All clubs have idiots but idiots also have the right to an opinion. We apparently live in a free society. I don’t like how this is reported but not surprised. The attack on city continues…
You’re right choosing to mock a death is an opinion but doing so on the clubs property shouldn’t be tolerated. These young dregs of society need to be taught a hard lesson.

Lack of respect for someone is a long way from wishing them dead or celebrating their death. Over the years I've met plenty of people I had no respect for but I wouldn't be celebrating their deaths.
Neither will I. But I refuse to stand and applause him.

I won't be celebrating his life either. The shit we as a club over the years have had to take from the red wankers is off the scale. I hate that fucking club . But I will not disrespect any minutes silence.

Already anounced a minutes silence at both plus other comemorations throughout the week.
Rip Sir Bobby but why should they need to do 2 ?????
Surly the fact he survived when coming back from a European tie and the fact he gave them there biggest night in the same competition should be based around midweek ????

How Utd honour their players is for them to decide. He is their most iconic player. I would guess it could be argued that at the week end more season tickets holders will attend.

There’s a lot about United grate but it’s their call about this and City fans just need to do the right thing and show respect at the game. ( I appreciate people on here fully appreciate this)

We were talking about this around the tea table believe it or not. When he dies, much as I don’t want to sing songs about it, do we all have to pretend he was a nice person? He’s a bully. I’m not going to forget the banner, noisy neighbours, not in my life time, and the general arrogance that he showed to us.

I’ve thought about this a few times too.

While I’m not going to join in the inevitable singing I’m not going to be rolling out the RIPs and platitudes either.

He was/is a nasty school playground bully who did and said some awful things towards our club for a long time that I’ll never forget.

Think they'll do one for both matches mate
Having a minute’s silence at both games would be a bit odd. I’d expect them to do the silence before the CL game as it’s their next home game but still do a tribute on Sunday with it being the derby, given that Charlton played in plenty of them…..and was on the losing side in a fair few!

Edit: Just seen another post saying they’re doing a minute’s silence at both. It’s up to us to keep quiet then. No excuses really.

No one's asking anyone to praise Charlton (or Ferguson, when his time comes). You don't have to like them. We're just asking people not to be disrespectful. Is that so unreasonable?

Falls into the if you can't say anything nice say nowt category which is where I'll be.

The immature behaviour of the spotty herberts who were singing that song on Saturday is inexcusable as well as being the epitome, the very definition of the word 'crass'.

Just let United commemorate one of their all time greats in their own way, respect their right and desire to do so and, above all, shut the fuck up and, where it applies, grow the fuck up.

It isn't difficult. It's what is known as being a decent human being. Just be respectful.

Yep and I reckon 100% of football going fans do that but when pissed up people/supporters do brain dead inexcusable things!

Let's ban alcohol in the ground and breathalyse every fan who comes in the ground because that's the only way you'll stop it quickly! It will take a generation to ween it out! It's why city go hard on it and the media making a big deal out of it it will be seen by all and just maybe when a young 20 year old is pissed up just might think twice?! But alcohol and common sense rarely make people or fans think twice!

Think sometimes we don’t need to mourn those who mean nothing to us but as @blue b4 the moon says, just say nowt.

A brilliant guy I knew who I had the pleasure of playing golf with about 20 years ago, (he moved away so didn’t see him until recently) passed away two weeks ago. His good friend wrote a eulogy on Facebook including these lines:

“Taught me a bit about how to live life. Dont save everything for old age as you might not get there. Don't waste your life on people who aren't worthy of your love or friendship. Always try and laugh your head off at least once a day! Be nice.”
