He has managed at one club in one country, a club where he had spent most of his professional life, and was basically handed one of the greatest teams of all time to work with. And he still cracked under the pressure and quit. He wouldn't last 18 months at City

I agree.
Albeit, I think it also spells the beginning of the end for Bobby.
A lot of Barca bricks being put in place and the main man sat readily available.

They used to the success, and big success.
Both domestic and CL success. Also a good style of play, very good attacking football.
They talked to the owners before they probably see Mansour's plans, hopes, and the money already invested and keeps investing for the academy etc. and then they see that every team plays better than us in Europe, we got dominated, they outplay us home and away, we dont have an identity or vision in our play, we forget keeping the ball or passing the ball etc.
Well they are not coming here to see that or to get used to that. And their first thought wont be to splash the cash now and the best players of Barca/Real/Bayern to make sure we can beat an Ajax or Napoli at least.
They possible will see the problems in the person of the manager.
With the new academy it is important to have a full plan, for the youngsters as well, to make them develope in a system we will need them in the first team.
Doubt Mancini has any plan for this how he wants the younger players developed.
Like Klopp De Boer knows exactly what is going on at U18 level at their club.
Not only the players but the way they learn and play so their transition will be easy when they get the chance.
Well when Mancini gives the chance to Under 20 players at City? Especially now after that League Cup fiasco?
Will we see Suarez, Rekik, Razak, Guidetti getting game time again this season?
Will they feature in the PL this season? Will they start a match? Will they be only subs?
Will tey get chance as a sub from time time this season?
Unfortunately they wont. Probably wont start any match. Possibly 5-10 minutes once until end of season as a sub in the FA-CUP if we arent up against PL team.
Youth policy is very important, especially if we bring in these Barca guys. Not sure Mancini meets this criteria or the CL success one...
Ajax had 7-8 youth products on Wendesday in their starting team. While we are thinking about we was shit because we didnt buy in the summer another 25-30m players.
Wonder what Ajax is thinking about it...
De Boer was in charge of the Ajax academy for 3 years before he took over as manager of the first team, so it's safe to say he keeps an eye on the youngsters and know how they play.CityCTID said:Damanino said:With these Barca guys in the board one thing is sure.
