Txiki Begiristain

but we just need to look at the overall movement of the club, from a business and sporting perspective, to know that we are in very capable hands.

Again spot on. There's a tendency to focus on a very small or specific thing (lets say the signing of Mangala) and then blow it out of all proportion and hold it up as proof positive that Begiristain doesn't know what he's doing and that the club is being badly mismanaged by 'the spaniards'. It's a refrain that began almost before they were appointed and has continued unabated regardless of the facts.

Indeed. The minutia is unimportant; there will be mistakes along the way as no business is flawless but the whole business appears to be extremely well run.

Perceptive comments about the relationship between the manager and the DoF too. All clubs rely on strong relationships and the trust apparent between Pep and Txiki will absolutely help in player recruitment.

Railing against the fact the football fans are obsessed with the minutia and miss the big picture is like railing against the sun rising. Mangala's shit, Bony's shit, Fernando's shit, Navas is shit, Pellegrini's shit, we've underperformed, we've finished 4th. This is what the fans care and talk about. Only natural this will be reflected on the Forum.

We just disagree on the "shit" then. I'm 47. Born and bred in Moss Side. Non of what is called "Shit" is actually that and believe me I have seen some!

You miss my point which was that this is what football fans talk about, not the general direction the club is heading in.

So that's Leroy Sane, Ilkay Gundogan, Nolito, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Gabriel Jesus, Marlos Moreno and Aaron Mooy (yes, I'm counting him) so far plus some really exciting talent in the youth setup. Does Txiki get a pass from the haters for this window?

I took your point, I perhaps didn't reply as I should. You're right in the respect that this is indeed what fans talk about. My point is that if the overall position is one of extreme health, why pontificate endlessly about a minor ailment?
