Txiki Begiristain

Why do you care, as long as the club are comfortable and it doesn't impact on new buys, why on earth should we be bothered.
I agree that people shouldn't get overly worked up about it but it isn't unreasonable for people to get a little frustrated to see a player like Benteke who has had an absolute stinker of a season, is on a pretty hefty wage and everyone knows is not wanted by his club go for 30 odd million when we seem to only be able to achieve subsidised loans for players in similar situations.

Nice to see Txiki paying clubs to take £100m worth of talent. How does this charlatan get away with it?

The thing that gets me with Mangala and Bony isn't that they didn't work out, it's that our desire to play technical passing football predated both of them, as did our desire to get Pep, and neither of them were suited to playing that way, yet both still cost us huge chunks of money in transfers and wages. Who identified these players as being good fits for the football we wanted to play? What was the purpose behind their purchases? I have a theory regarding Bony and Pellegrini selfishly wanting to go out on a high before he was punted but that doesn't stop Txiki, Ferran or Khaldoon telling him to get on with what he's got. Mangala is just a straight up mystery, especially as we also had to then pay for Fernando because we didn't want to piss off Porto.

We could easily have sold lots of players for a profit in the past, but that would have meant off loading the likes of Aguero, Silva, Toure, Kompany to our nearest rivals. Strangely enough it's not possible to make a profit on players who are on huge wages and have been found wanting at the highest level. Paying high wages may make it difficult to get rid of the deadwood but it means we also sign and keep hold the players we want. In the last five years how many players have left against the club's will?

A little frustrating, yes. I don't know what Benteke was on but we know why we have problems selling. If a player knows he can go on loan and continue getting the same wages, there is no reason to accept any transfer and a huge cut in wages. Nothing we can do about that. Hopefully that will change with players on newer contracts.
That said we are buying younger players now at a different level. For example Jesus if he's not a great success we would probably still get £25 mill back for him. If he is the player we hope, we wouldn't be willing sellers, but it would be to a Barca or Real, and would bring in a big fee, similar to Bale or Ronaldo. We are at the tail end of a stage of our growth and moving to another level, we just have a bit of clearing out to do.

Very happy with incoming but he has been tosh getting players out,all loans and except for bony paying them some wages and only a loan fee for bony, very poor stuff

Are we getting loan fees for these players? If so, any reports as to how much? Sometimes clubs pay a few million or whatever to loan a player. Or are they leaving for no upfront fee? Been in work so not clued up on all the details yet.

Apparently Stoke are paying us £2m loan fee for Bony

Only one we have a loan fee is Bony(2m) and Stoke are paying all his wages
Joe and nasri have no loan fee and we are paying a lot of their wages
Mangala deal is unclear and this moment
None have options to buy

Apart from the Bony deal, the other clubs don't even seem to be covering wages so my guess is that they aren't paying significant loan fees.
