Txiki Begiristain

Granted we've had a lot of hits recently, but no dross?

Jovetic
Cabelerro
Demechellis
Mangala
Bony
Fernando
Navas
Sagna
Nolito
Bravo

All signed under Txiki and range from "meh" to "are we caught up in a ponzi scheme or something"

Not sure how anyone could be upset at Caballero, Demichellis and Navas?

They were all perfectly good squad players who were bought to be squad players.

Agreed.

I also thought Sagna was a free transfer.
Nolito was a cheap punt where we got half our money back, he just didn't settle in Manchester.
A few on here insist Bony was Pellegrini's choice/demand.

Some of those were probably his mistake but to put every bad signing down to him doesn't seem right, that's not how the club is run. Pep has described it, they all give input and come to agreements on these things before they happen.

The scouts never seem to come in for much blame but aren't they the ones providing the player reports?

and most of the hits recently came post-FFP where the average cost of the signings has been about £60m. Great sporting directors find unpolished diamonds, Txiki has never done that - when working on a relatively moderate budget his recruitment was woeful.

If the league and/or Champions League aren’t won this season, it’s time for a reboot IMO, from the manager right up to Soriano.

Fuck me, I've seen some posts before, but this is really something.

Joined in February, 12 posts, demanding that our most successful management structure in history is booted, has a post about decrying the club for not signing Fabinho. *chin sktraching emjoi*
