As pointed out by others, we are still reliant on Mancini's team nearly 4 years after he left... Really he is like the sales exec.. Who failed to achieve his targets right till thelast moment but then pulled the rabbit out of the hat by getting pep.

He is the director of football.Bollocks. The idea it's the fault of any one person is idiotic, they aren't making these decisions based on the whim of one director.
What does he do? Turn round to his bosses when the team are underperforming and say it's not my fault - the manager is poor! (He hired him)... Or does he say the players are poor (he bought them) ... Or does he say the players already here are not good enough but we can't get rid because of their wages (he extended their contracts).
He doesn't even appear to have a plan. He's brought in pep but bought a load of players that don't suit his style of play.

Why would that be specifically his fault? He doesn't coach the players, pick the team or choose the tactics. He signs players and he hires staff, but everything he does is at a remove from what happens on the pitch, he can only trust that they'll try and do their jobs properly. Whether he's done a good job or a bad job, there's still people closer to the action who are in a position to fuck it up. He has basically decided to try and "get through" the past 18 months because we don't dare miss out on getting pep!
The club bang on about wanting to be the best, well the best are Bayern Munich/Barcelona/Real Madrid and do you really think they'd let themselves get into the state we have for the sake of hiring a manager on a 3 year contract 18 months down the line?
Can you ever imagine barca going you know what? peps contract is up at city in 3 years so we'll just stick with what we have and buy a load of squad fillers for 3 seasons so we can maybe get Pep back to rebuild the shower of shite we've amassed over these 3 years?
