UEFA Independent Inquiry

The media are becoming Dipper fan boys , they can't do anything wrong and if they do its swept under the carpet and blame diverted , there are going to be some awful consequences in the future because these Dipper bastards are a danger to all football fans.
They have no conscience and take no responsibility for their actions they are becoming untouchable as a football club and there will be ramifications for the media's platitudes , there is another disaster just around the corner involving these rats , Paris was a close call and only the gendarmes aggressive actions prevented another incident leading to fatalities.

It was the blockchain that did it.

At last, somebody who isn't affraid to say the truth.

A ticket industry expert has told The Connexion that Liverpool fans’ preference for printed tickets is likely to be at the root of the “industrial scale” fraud which caused chaos at the Champions League final at the Stade de France on Saturday May 28 .

He said Liverpool’s preference for printed - rather than digital - tickets made it so much easier for fakes to be made for the Champions League final

Mr Aubin said buying a sporting ticket event in a paper format was much more common in the UK than in France where digital QR-codes are often used instead.

He added that Liverpool had asked UEFA to produce the 20,000 tickets in paper format since the club was not technically able to handle the blockchain technology used by the UEFA for that event.

While the blockchain-technology guarantees against attempts at fraud through a complex technological system, the production of several thousand paper tickets opens the door to greater risks for black market sales, said Mr Aubin.

1. Fake tickets: Perhaps you’ve been in this situation: You bought tickets to your favorite show, which is coming to town. The entire family is excited. The day has arrived, you park your car, and, while walking to the venue, you look at the big smile on the face of your kids. You arrive at the entrance, show your tickets, and you are told that, unfortunately, they are fake. This has happened to many people. Mobile blockchain ticketing can help prevent this in the future. Each ticket going through the blockchain receives its own “identity,” and if consumers want to resell or transfer the ticket, they need to go again through the blockchain.

In the space of just four days, SecuTix Solutions and UEFA have successfully delivered both the UEFA Europa League Final in Gdańsk and the UEFA Champions League Final in Porto, the latter being the highest attended European football match since the outbreak of the pandemic.

Interesting reading,

"Not technically able to handle digital tickets" ffs

Then again they can't even install TV screens to show replays and VAR decisions so what chance a digital ticket system.

Don't seem to have difficulty with "Hacking" though do they!

I hear there is a candle being lit outside Anfield (another one).

"Remember the Paper tickets"

Mr Aubin casted doubts on the number of fake tickets circulating based on the information he gathered, without giving a precise number of a range.

“40,000 fake tickets means a $20million scam. This would have been promoted by an organised crime gang, something that I am having difficulty believing,” said Mr Aubin

We had paper tickets in Porto

Has anybody seen any serious analysis if why there was so much trouble outside the ground for this game? I get the derpived area/gang arguments but there have been plenty of events without any trouble (how many before this WITH trouble?). Was just wondering if there was any BillyBigBollocks stuff before the game that led to a reaction after it.

"Don't you walk through my words, you got to show some respect". That sort of thing.

40k people paying £500 for fakes - what a clown.

That's bullshit, because Liverpool's website only mentioned electronic tickets and that info was still available 5 days after the final as I put it on here.

If they couldn't handle it, why offer admin direction about it?

More Scouse Bullshit

Spot on.
Nobody died in Paris despite the ferral Dippers. Not seen much about the Real Madrid fans having/ causing problems either.
Dippers - always the victims ( and the club organised a PARADE on the anniversary of Heysel)

This 40,000 fake ticket thing again. That isn't what the French authorities said, was it? Hard to take an "expert" seriously if they can't get basic facts right.

UEFA yesterday launched an investigation into the ticket and security problems surrounding Wednesday's Champions League final but placed the bulk of the blame on Liverpool fans. The British embassy, however, demanded an explanation from the Greek authorities after Liverpool fans with valid tickets were prevented from entering the Olympic Stadium and were baton-charged by riot police.

William Gaillard, Uefa's director of communications, contrasted the behaviour of the English supporters unfavourably with those of Milan. "Unfortunately, in Britain it is the behaviour," he said. "Liverpool fans are responsible for the problem before, during and after the game. They were trying to go over the barriers to get into the stadium without tickets, which is not behaviour we can condone.

The former Conservative leader Michael Howard, a Liverpool supporter, who was at the match, claimed the stadium was not suitable for such a big match and there had been a large measure of incompetence.

The trouble in Athens erupted about an hour before kick-off, when police stopped fans with tickets - which some had bought for more than £600 - from entering the ground. Officers said the ground was full to its 63,800 capacity after fans with forged tickets had gained entry to the stadium. Fans who tried to find a way around the police cordons were then baton-charged by officers carrying riot shields, and tear gas was fired.

There had been reports that up to 5,000 forged tickets were in circulation. "We had an overcrowded Liverpool end when there probably was a few thousand people who should not have been there," Gaillard said.

I’m surprised that Littlewoods haven’t claimed that Parc des Princes wasn’t suitable for such a big match, as they seem to have done so on every other occasion that there has been problems.

Just read somewhere that it weren't the gendarmes actions that prevented an incident ,it was the brave actions of the Liverpool fans .

I had a mate who was a dipper season ticket holder go to that match. He says that as it was an athletics stadium there were no turnstiles, as the tickets were manually checked they were then thrown back into the crowd to allow another in and so on. He got to his seat and there were already three people there, they told him to do one. He gave up his season ticket after that match.

Apart from the misunderstanding of the 40,000 number, and the bizarre £500 a pop tickets, surely he'd know that not all OCGs are Line of Duty standard*

That programme about Manchester police last year, suggested there were loads of them about, and they were mostly made up of one grown up, half a dozen idiots and an obedient psychopath.

*Although given that one of their OCGs was actually based in a printers, that might have been handy.
