UKIP

Getting back to the original post, obviously leftists will play the racism card with UKIP, but it's only because UKIP have a stance on Europe that as a British citizen is difficult to disagree with.

Can't criticise UKIP policies on Europe so they try to pick them apart elsewhere or infer that they're a racist party.

As I said before though, UKIP are a threat to the Tory vote and for me and my family that is a bad thing, because I'll be taxed more under a Labour govt.

The day you appear in the 'supertax' bracket is the day I eat my head.

Nice try but not very subtle. Bait rejected.

You should have eaten it 4 years ago then

I have a problem with any political with any person or group who have a standpoint before they know the question. i think you have to be open to anything and then make an unbiased opinion.

there have been times in my life when my initial reaction has been "no chance". then after backing down and giving it a go i have had my eyes opened. ( not talking about anything sexual before you fucking start ).

Just to be clear, I think it's incredible that people believe that countries like Greece, Spain, Ireland, can have the same currency as countries like Germany, France and the UK. Truly bizarre. Already it's leading to mass unemployment and rioting on the streets in protest. However, if the majority of the British people vote for this in a referendum, then I'll think it's a mistake, but I'll have to grin and bear it, and content myself with saying 'I told you so', when it all goes tits up ;). As for Scotland, speaking as a democrat, I think it's great that they're having a referendum to decide on the future direction of their country, and I'll respect the outcome whatever that may be. A union where people can't be allowed to voice their opinion for fear of the possibility that they may say no, isn't much of a union imo.

You clearly have not listened to a word i have posted. So just to be clear.

Europe should be reformed. As it stands now i would on balance vote for withdrawl as it does not work. Single political and economic entities have to have strong bases, the EU does not. It needs to be far more democratic, it needs an elected President, it needs a powerful central bank and it needs all members to have the same currency. If that happens i will vote to stay in the EU.

The USA, the UK, Russia, Australia show its possible for people to share a currency and a government, so to argue if reform was achieved that Greece is at a disadvantage is like saying that Alaska suffers because its not New York. Its a nonsense argument as regional variations have always occured.

I find that the Eurosceptic approach to the EU is based on little englanderism, that outdated island race notion. As the rest of the EU move closer together we move further apart. How will leaving the EU benefit us? Norway and Switzerland who are not EU members still pay into the EU coffers for there right to be trading partners but have no voice at the table. So if we leave what then? What do we do? Even that well know far left wing group the CBI think leaving the EU would be madness as it could cost a million jobs.

Ideally far into the future i would like to see a world government where we all come under one democratically elected parliament. Every person has an equal say and equal rights to what resources the planet will have available. Im an internationalist though and my dreams are way into the future but closer integration with our closest allies is in my book as long as it is reformed in a proper and democratic manner the right way forward

What's a "leftist"? Are there "rightists"?

If leftists did exist, I'm pretty sure that I would be quite pleased to be called a leftist. Most of the criticism towards people on the left is that they don't like hurting other people and most of the criticism towards people on the right is that they are intolerant of people's feelings.

I think I'd prefer to be a leftist than a rightist in those circumstances
