Well cutting the 15 billion we dish out in foreign aid and invest it in our own country sounds like a f*cking great idea to me, and before we get the bleating BHLs "What about the starving children" routine, lets remember we are giving it to the likes of China, Pakistan and India, all who choose to spend their money on arms and space programs rather than their own people.

Scraping all green taxes and wind turbine subsidies is another great idea, we were sold a pack of lies on "Global warming" that the evidence has shown to be utter bollocks, every family in the UK would see their energy bills cut immediately.
Worth pointing out that the three countries listed above under aid all produce energy by burning massive amounts of coal.

Make sentences mean what they say.

Immigrants must financially support themselves and their dependents for 5 years. This means private health insurance (except emergency medical care), private education and private housing - they should pay into the pot before they take out of it.

Open GP surgeries in the evening, for full-time workers, where there is demand.

• Locally-elected County Health Boards to inspect hospitals - to avoid another Stafford Hospital crisis.

• Priorities social housing for people whose parents and grandparents were born locally.

• Allow the creation of new grammar schools.

• Make welfare a safety net for the needy, not a bed for the lazy. Benefits only available to those who have lived here for over 5 years.

...........Whoa, these boys are on a role here, its almost as if they know what most people in the uk want, ;0)

It won't be to long before the LWNJ's on here are calling you a Daily Mail reading 'little Englander', xenophobic, racist and a bigot - they do like to shout people down who don't agree with their ideology.
What you have written would be regarded as common sense to the majority of most average, working class people. Hence the rising and increasing popularity of UKIP and they are not going away anytime soon.
However, I fear Ed Milliband and Ed 'I Crashed The Car' Balls' will be making the decisions after the next election due to the defection of rank & file Tory voters who turn to UKIP. Also the current Tory party are completely useless regarding how they promote and communicate their message. Dave & George are only slightly better than Ed & Ed. It is a sad reflection of the sorry state of politics in the UK today.

Love the hypocrisy of LWNJs. They bang on about lack of democracy and more rights, yet they attack people with different views in an insulting manner and act in a malicious way.

Funny how that has not happened. Instead i have tried engaging in debate but recieved only one answer

Dont let a sweeping generalisation go to waste though

Do you think that we create a loss from Chinas investment in the UK compared to our investment in China?

How much is budgeted for foreign Aid to India next year? And the year after that?

Maybe the legacy of our past in the areas around Pakistan means that we as a nation are bound to help (Pakistan get about £400m or 2.6% of the total budget) Oh and if you could point me in the direction of Pakistans current space programme I would be grateful as I quite fancy reading about what they are wasting "our" money on.

And your point is?

That post by Adrian - is that genuinely what they're proposing? Nice list, but probably unworkable. They'll win votes with it though.

The issue for UKIP is whether they can make it through an election campaign talking only about the EU and immigration. Once they're forced to talk about wider issues, specific economic policies, it could all fall apart. And in a general election campaign they will not be able to direct everything through Farage. We'll hear more from other members of the party, they'll all start contradicting each other. The nutcases and loonies will be exposed.

Even if they do manage to keep the focus on Farage he's shown a tendency to buckle under pressure. He doesnt have the stamina of someone like Salmond. UKIP may be flavour of the month for many at the moment but they could easily crumble at a general election.

I think it's more a question of whether the establishment's media poodles will ask questions of UKIP representatives on subjects other than the EU and immigration, or whether they will attempt to continue to cover their corrupt LibLabCon mates' backs by trying to present UKIP as only having a very narrow agenda. This approach has backfired massively so far, with large numbers of voters flocking to UKIP precisely because the media have turned the propaganda amp to 11, but I just can't see the establishment politicians, state media and press barons coming up with any better ideas. They're desperate to cling on the corrupt empire they've enjoyed for generations, but I think they see their time coming to an end, and not a moment too soon.

Despite that , let me allay your fears about the next election.
No way are the Eds going to win it. Given previous voting trends Labour would have to be at 40% in the polls NOW ( they are at about 36 %) to get the 35% they need to win the election come next May.
You need to worry about whether your nasty Tories will get an overall WORKING majority which is far from certain.
Hope that makes your evening.

They will also win votes from passive Labour voters too; by targeting the immigration issue. Sad but true. And that is why I can't trust them.

Employment
People working on zero hour contracts must be offered a fixed hour contract after 12 months. It will be their choice whether to take up the offer.
So in effect making zero hour contracts 11 months long
Employers will be allowed to discriminate in favour of unemployed British under-25s during the recruitment process.
Employers should employ the best person for the job
Personal tax allowances will be increased so that nobody on minimum wage will pay income tax. This will take a million people out of the tax system.
Increasing tax thresholds by 4k per person is a big ask. No mention of increasing the minimum wage though
A points-based immigration system will be introduced that ensures we get more highly skilled immigrant workers doing the jobs we need them to do rather than unskilled economic migrants who add little to no value to the economy.
Historically when this country has needed immigration, its been low end such as bus drivers etc. Will only admitting highly skilled people reduce opportunity for our brightest kids

Defence
Create a Veterans Department in the Ministry of Defence to provide a one stop shop for former armed forces personnel to access services.
No idea what that means, but sounds good
Guarantee of a job in the police, prison service or border force for former armed forces personnel who have served for 12 years or more.
We need to start guarenteeing our armed force they can serve 12 years first. But a fair policy on the whole
Priority health care for former armed forces personnel, including mental health services.
Priority access to social housing for armed forces personnel returning to civilian life.
Cant argue with that
Introduction of a National Defense Medal for all armed forces personnel to acknowledge their contribution.
Why?
Guaranteed housing for former armed forces personnel.
You already posted that

Communities
Stricter punishments for anti-social and criminal behavior.
The Stocks perhaps? meaningless rhetoric
Community service for people who cause criminal damage.
Fair enough
Criminals jailed for crimes that affect their community will be banned from returning to live in the same area when released.
So there kids could suffer because of the actions of one night of madness
More local public services run by community groups.
Localism is ok by me
Unemployed people on training courses should do work that benefits their local community.
Unemployed people should be looking for work
Help community groups and charities set up credit unions to tackle loan sharks and dependency on pay day lenders.
Already happens to some extent
Allow community groups to purchase services and supplies through the local authority to benefit from their buying power.
That already is allowed
More control of council budgets by the community.
How?
End the postcode lottery within local authorities for training and grants.
We all get the same. Wow Socialism
Criminalise noise nuisance so the police can deal with it when it's happening.
Usually a knock on the door suffices or in the case of my neighbours a threat to get up and drink there booze
Make it easier to evict problem families.
Who decides who the problem families are?
Protect guerilla gardeners from punishment for improving their local green spaces.
Like that
Change planning laws so that decisions can be based on the community's access to a range of services and impact on local independent traders.
Decent idea
Right of appeal on planning decisions for local communities and important planning decisions to go to a referendum.
Democracy in action perhaps, but messy and time and consuming surely with only specific interest groups involved
Local people should have a say on highways improvements rather than decisions being based on statistics.
How exactly?
Publicly funded services won't be allowed to use premium rate phone numbers.
Correct
School governing boards must have at least 30% parents of children at the school and councillors appointed to the board must demonstrate a link to the school to prevent political appointments.
Cant disagree with that
Councillors must be appointed to outside bodies based on merit rather than their politics and appointments must include residents.
Who decides there merits?
No parallel legal systems will be allowed.
No sharia allowed. Even though its used already to settle muslim disputes arbitarily
If you go abroad to join extremists you won't be allowed to come back.
Would the brave British lads who fought Franco's Spanish fascist state not have been allowed back? Would the memorial to the International Brigade in London be a stain the UK?

Immigration
Priority entry points at ports for UK passport holders.
Minority exit points for UK passport holders when you go abroard
Increase front line border staff by 2,500.
Seems a small figure that. Why only 2,500 why not 10,000 so we can all get through border controls 4 times quicker
Abolish the provisions of the Dublin Treaty that prevent us from identifying the country of origin of illegal immigrants who come here with no identification.
What that would serve to prove is beyond me, sorry
All immigrants should be treated the same regardless of where they come from without discrimination based on religion, origin or ethnicity.
Of course
A points-based immigration system will be introduced that ensures we get more highly skilled immigrant workers doing the jobs we need them to do rather than unskilled economic migrants who add little or no value to the economy.
How insulting. Everybody that works adds value to the economy.
Reduce net immigration to 50,000 people per year.
I will ask again does that include students? Will our indigineous student population suffer from the lack of funding that foreign students provide to our universities?

How will you achieve this figure as long as we remain in the EU

Health
Commitment to the NHS remaining free at the point of need.
Just a commitment not a promise
Licensing of NHS managers.
Dont understand that
Exempt the NHS from the trade and investment agreement about to be signed with the US.
Correct
Exempt the NHS from investor protection laws so private companies can't sue the government over NHS contracts.
Correct
Mandatory health insurance for immigrant workers and visitors.
If you have not you only get emergency care as it stands
County health boards will replace Monitor and the Care Quality Commission and will be run by clinicians.
To be honest i would rather my clinicians be treating people than monitoring care. The best people to monitor care are nursing staff

Economy
Personal tax allowances will be increased so that nobody on minimum wage will pay income tax. This will take a million people out of the tax system.
No mention in rise of minimum wage
Reducing the tax rate from 40% to 35% on earnings between £42k and £55k a year.
Now the tax cutting dogma gets real. The UKIP donors need there cut
Eventual implementation of a simple 20% basic rate, 30% intermediate rate and 40% top rate of tax.
At least a change from the idiocy of the flat rate system has come about
Abolish inheritance tax - everything you buy is taxed when you're alive, why should your family pay tax on it again when you die?
I actually have no probs with this upto a point. As most people work hard for what they have. Super rich perhaps i feel a little different as inherited mega riches rather than a start in life or a hand up i see differently
Introduction of a 25% luxury goods tax to combat "tax free shopping" where the super rich fly in to buy expensive luxury items and claim the VAT back at the airport.
So it would be a 5% tax or have i missed the point
Establish a Treasury Commission to design a turnover tax for large companies to ensure a minimum rate of corporation tax is paid.

Justice
Repeal the Human Rights Act and replace it with a UK Bill of Rights.
All well and good. But we already have rights enshrined in law, who would you trust to make sure you kept those rights?
No votes for prisoners.
Anti EU nonsense. Prisoners are memvers of our society whether we like it or not
Non-compliance with the EU Arrest Warrant and the EU Investigation Order.
To what end and purpose
Routine personal sound and video recording by police officers.
Does that not happen now
Motivational and learning focus on the rehabilitation of prisoners.
That happens now does it not

Welfare
Crack down on benefit fraud.
Benefit fraud is widely accepted at 1% of the benefit bill. Unacceptable its that high yes but that is just rhetoric
Immigrants will have to work for 5 years before being entitled to benefits.
Bet that got a huge cheer from the faithful.. But what specific benefits do you mean
Child benefit will only be paid for children living in the country.
Again we will im sure have to leave the EU for that to be allowed
Limit child benefit to two children for new claimants.
Punish the future wealth creators. What have they done wrong?
Reinstate the spare room subsidy (abolishing the inaccurately-named "Bedroom tax").
Deary me what fucking nonsense
End unfair disability benefit assessments.
Replace with what?
Higher unemployment benefits for people who have paid into the system for 5 years or more.
Was the case until Thatcher abolished them. so all in favour

Education
Return to traditional teaching in primary schools.
Traditional teaching always worries me. sounds like Gove and his Victorian approach
End sex education for primary school children.
Why?
Bring back the limit of 30 children per class.
Should be 20
A grammar school in every town.
I would abolish all school made on selection, but if UKIP promise that it would be interesting how it panned out
Establish a single exam board to prevent schools cherry picking the easiest syllabus to inflate pass rates.
Central control from Libertarians. Go figure

But i agree

Introduce a vocational Apprenticeship Qualification Option worth 4 GCSEs that can be continued to A-Level.
Like the idea but implemtation would be hard
Reverse the trend of closing special schools.
Agreed
Require an OFSTED investigation of schools if 25% of parents and governors sign a petition expressing concerns about the school.
Fair enough
Abolish the target of 50% of school leavers going to university.
Didnt realise there was a target, sorry for my ignorance
Abolish tuition fees for students studying medicine, science, maths and technology.
Thats just fucking mental. Our culture owes as much to the humanities and the English language as it does anything else. Do UKIP want us to be cultural automatons
Charge EU students at universities the same as other foreign nationals.
Dont know if they are not so cant comment, but will the students who want to come be part of the 50k immigration cap?

Environment
Incentivise the return of 700,000 empty houses into the housing stock.
Sensible
Relax planning regulations in strategic planning zones to convert disused commercial buildings into housing.
Sensible
Concentrate house building on brownfield sites.
Sensible
Establish a UK Brownfield Agency to maintain a register of brownfield sites and administer grants and loans for decontamination.
Issue Brownfield Bonds to raise £5bn for redevelopment of brownfield sites.
Abolish VAT and Stamp Duty for brownfield developments.

Cant disagree with that

Business
Conduct a skills review to ensure the education system teaches the skills that businesses need.
Im sure its findings will be hilarious.
More flexible labour market with less regulation.
Here we get to the nitty gritty dont we, less regulation, less workers rights
Work with local councils to encourage free parking in town centres.
Completely at odds with the localism espoused earlier
Simplify the planning system to help SMEs secure change of use and make it easier to bring vacant commercial properties back into use.
Simply but as long as it suits mantra. Again contradicts localism stuff earlier

Transport
Scrap HS2.
Not a fan would rather see £30billion on improving NW transport links
Ban new toll roads.
Meaningless policy
Work to abolish existing toll roads.
Close the M6 Toll or take it into public ownership? More socialism lol
No road pricing.
Dont understand that sorry
Abolish the EU Certificate of Professional Competence.
Whats that?
Introduce a road tax payable on entry to the UK so that foreign haulage companies contribute to the upkeep of our roads.
Or not come here
Abolish electric car subsidies.
Why?
Free bus passes for pensioners and disabled people.
Fair enough

Fisheries
Establish a 200 mile Exclusive Economic Zone around the UK and all dependencies.
Will that include Paris Brussels and Dublin?
License sustainable fishing, mining and drilling.
Who licenses it?

Thanks for your post Adrian its been most enlightening and even though you say i have made my mind up im always willing to look at other ideas. UKIP have a couple of decent policies, but so do the Tories and the Lib Dems but overall its not for me thanks pal.

Since a lot of UKIP voters tend to believe every negative EU story in the papers....

New and revised policies announced at the UKIP party conference in Doncaster.

Thanks for your post Adrian its been most enlightening and even though you say i have made my mind up im always willing to look at other ideas. UKIP have a couple of decent policies, but so do the Tories and the Lib Dems but overall its not for me thanks pal.

Rascal, The one area I was very disappointed in was the minimum wage, I spoke with one MEP from the Midlands about it and I am confident it will get attention very soon, I will keep pushing for it at every meeting I attend.

I want to match Miliband's £8 level immediately as I can see no reason for not doing so, it will cost the country nothing as the extra cost born by the public sector is paid back by savings in working benefits, which in it's self is a disgrace, working people needing benefits to live. Businesses claim it will cost jobs but they said that when it was first introduced. To not pay it at an £8 level rewards employers who pay little and as a result are subsidised by the state whilst at the same time penalises decent employers who pay a fair wage. We must get the benefits bill under control so there is no excuse for subsidising employers by supporting their low wages with tax credits and housing benefit .

I also want a higher minimum wage for larger companies who can afford to pay more.

Another issue that made me angry this week is the benefits freeze to save £3 billion over two years, Cameron must think we are all thick, He is happy to freeze his own people benefits, 70%+ who are in work , but guarantee an increase in the foreign aid budget, hand over £5 billion a year to European immigrants in tax credits, educate a million children of immigrants for free at a cost of £6-9 billion a year and provide free heath care to 8 million immigrants at a cost of £17.6 billion a year. I thought the first responsibility of government was to protect its people not persecute those on benefits because of low wages whilst handing out cash and/or free services to those born or even living over seas.

And don't get me started on the persecution of the under 21's, they are least responsible for the mess and yet they are targeted. I wish they would all vote, for anyone, but they must vote to stop the endless tory persecution.
