It might have helped if the boundaries had been at the furthest tube stations out, so out of area drivers (and visiting football fans) could drive there, park up, and get the tube in. Otherwise look for the main line stations outside the zone. Theobalds Grove for Spurs. Watford Junction for Palace. Etc.

A good suggestion and unless you need a van full of tools driving into London beyond the outer tube stations is pretty dreadful and unnecessary. These outer London stations were until post war probably very much in the greenbelt or semi rural. Now though urban sprawl has well and truly swallowed them to to park and ride is a nightmare. Obviously the price of land/real estate means there isn't much possibility of extra commuter parking
That message has been there for at least three years now, flashes up on the smart motorway signs, with all the speed cameras on that stretch between Sheffield and the A38 and beyond I think most drivers adhere to the speed limit as you will likely get nicked. Bit of schadenfreude when you see a dick head bombing it and a camera goes off, £100, 3 points, increased insurance.
Less well off doesn’t apply to the “poorest in society” and certainly not middle class, try working class, these are the backbone of Britain and a lot earn close to the minimum wage but need a car for various reasons, (families, awkward commute’s to work, shifts, looking after elderly family, etc) they’re the ones being punished, they are so entitled to run a car but it’s vindictive, even in London where there’s plenty of workers on relatively low pay pay.
At the moment there’s an advert running on the Radio asking for Police recruits in London with a starting salary of 33,500, whoopy fuck do, that’s about 2200 per month, how the fuck are you expected to live on that if you have rent to pay, that salary doesn’t get you a mortgage down there.
Again you seem completey incapable of comprehending just how few people are effected by this.

The real number of people that will be affected by this is minuscule in the grand scheme of things.
It‘ll come in, people will realise and all the noise will disappear.
Yes, no one is denying a very tiny minority of people will have to change their cars. And those people will get government assistance to help them make the change, and they will benefit from cleaner air just like everyone else.
It will because the vehicles, (eg in Manchester)will be over 10 years old when the scheme is introduced across GM possibly in 3 years time, cars will be at the back end of their life. When it was originally going to be implemented in 2022 some vehicles were only 7 years old and had plenty of life left. I expect like London (and as was the case for commercial vehicles in Manchester) a subsidy will be available, that’s an incentive a lot of people won’t want to miss but some (small percentage admittedly) will just give up driving.

Before you start throwing the toys out the cot and assuming you have understood the issue, it's worth noting the stat about ulez compliance of cars within the zone does not account for many others that drive into the zone from outside. The good news is that may mean the urge for them to drive cleaner vehicles will mean ulez has even greater impact, but the financial impact on these folk is huge and unaccounted for in the statsAgain you seem completey incapable of comprehending just how few people are effected by this.
