ULEZ Letter

just put false plates on your car if it doesn't comply
i'll get me coat.
i got a speeding ticket a couple of weeks ago but i was nowhere near the location given.
i rang up and the person i spoke to said oh you've been cloned, just send email us pictures of your car wich i did and the fine was cancelled

if the Tories had let him and others subsidise bus and tube fares from the rates, that would have cut congestion and pollution.
That's a general disconnect with all these allegedly 'green' initiatives. Going back to the upgrading of roads, building the motorway network, the beeching cuts etc we encouraged / forced car ownership. Now we are seeking to encourage folk back onto public transport that is no longer joined up, frequent enough or affordable. Not really a London specific point, but if we were sincere about going green rather than just raising cash public transport should be free or very cheap

We were well aware in the 80s of the damage from internal combustion engines, and the environmental benefits of public transport. First the Tories came for the rate-subsidised fares, then they came for the councils' funding so the councils cut contracts for socially-desirable bus routes, now they're after the climate change experts.

If you can afford a compliant car no tax, if you can’t afford to the change the car Ulez tax, the less well off being penalised, it’s fucking ridiculous.

Aberdeen, Birmingham, Bradford, Bristol, Dundee, Aberdeen, Edinburgh. Nobody cared a fuck about their poor and they have a much poorer public transport provision
