United (A) | Post Match Thread

It’s more the fact that we know they will set up with 10 men behind the ball and attempt to smash it long to Son and Kane on the counter. The perfect way to beat us. We’re facing a low block virtually every single week now and we don’t really look like scoring. 6 shots on target against Fulham, where we needed a soft 95th minute pen to overcome them, 5 shots on target vs Brentford despite 75% possession (and they had 8 shots on target from 25%), 3 shots on target vs Everton, 3 shots on target vs Chelsea, 1 shot on target today. The only league game we’ve bucked that trend in, in the last 2 or 3 months, was at Leeds, who are always as porous as a sieve anyway. We need a complete rethink and maybe 2 or 3 signings in the summer, cos the problem isn’t going away.
For what it’s worth, I thought the rags were shit today, there for the taking. With 78 minutes on the clock we’d completely exposed the idea of them being a genuine threat again, and then bang, two soft as shit counterattacks in oceans of space and we’re done

But that first counter should have been ruled offside.

I agree we need some signings, to frehen things up as much as anything but, yeah mate, to add more pace. Not that I think pace is a guaranteed game changer against the low blocks we keep facing.

We all know that we desperately need a proper left-back but I did think Cancelo looked a bit more like his best self today. and we need a right-winger with pace.

Its been a while since I last posted (lost my Dad to Liver Cancer in November) and it wasn't the best of peformances due to our patchy form however we was robbed of at least a point.
My deepest condolences, let's hope we give you something for you to shout for this season. All the best Ray

Pep please take the handbrake off this team, they are being strangled by not seeming to be allowed to take chances. As soon as we pass quicker and with slightly more risk we look like scoring and blowing teams away. Ps that 1st should never have stood, how can they not be getting an advantage from our back line playing him offside? He went to the ball and granted did not touch it, but if we weren’t playing them offside the whole back line would be 5 yards further back and Penandes does not get there. As soon as Walton said it was a goal I knew it would be allowed, always seems fishy that he “never” gets it wrong

The last couple of games particularly, we’ve been guilty of giving up possession in good advanced positions, leaving us vulnerable to counter attacks, as repeatedly happened today. We need to get forward much quicker and utilise Haaland. The number of times he makes himself available but the ball doesn’t come is criminal.

Yet again, Foden & Bernardo contributed nothing. Too often they either took the easy option of passing back or they lost possession. Haaland not in the game, but he is being starved, it’s ridiculous. Mahrez struggled against Malacia and Kev was kept quiet.

The offside law is a mess, the USA stream I watched had Robbie Earle saying as the law stands it is a goal, Tim Howard said should be offside as he runs 5 yards shielding the ball, therefore is definitely influencing the defenders & keeper. The host didn’t know which was right. Remember that’s twice utd have strange interpretation of the offside law, to win a game, both involving Rashford. The other being the infamous “he would have been offside last season, but this season there is a bigger margin to favour the attacker”. It hasn’t happened since has it.

One thing is certain, Grealish before Foden at this moment in time. Phil is awful at the moment.

I don't think there is a fan of any club who would be happy with that "Goal" being scored against them.

A shite decision turned the game. Rashford was shielding the ball so how the fcuk was he not involved in play.

That said, we had a proper team out in proper positions but too many players are turning in lacklustre performances.

KDB looks fcuked, Phil’s on a piss poor run and Bernardo is contributing little other than pirouettes. Hence the engine room was misfiring and Haaland, bless him, gets no service.

Pep says he doesn't care about the league now.
Wow.
Does he think we ain't good enough to win it or does he think we are just too inconsistent to fight to retain it?
Surely it's just abit of kidology..... surely
