United (H) - League Cup SF 2nd Leg Post-Match Thread

Just got in.

Not read thread, bar a few posts.

My 2p - I thought we were fucking appalling and I’m fast moving towards a “Pep has ran his course” position.

Losing to them twats, regardless of the odd opportunity spurned, was a fucking disgrace.

Selections and tactics have gone to shit, players are playing wank.

How the fuck, on god’s earth, did Sterling complete 90 mins tonight?

Rodders, imo, was the only player who had a game anywhere near expectations.

Fucking shite.

Pep made mistakes tonight. He’s made mistakes this season. But there literally isn’t a better manager out there so getting rid is MADNESS

Have to say that Matic was outstanding tonight and far far better than any City player.Delighted that in the end he was sent off as it certainly helped our course,
We were so poor in that second half with the midfield being so slow in the buildups with our play and far far too may balls played either sidewrds or backwards when we had the chance to attack with more urgency. One of of our biggest culprits was someone I have yet to slag off,but fuck was he poor,Walker !!

many on here are acting like having a smacked arse moan moan moan

look the prize was won by city and its a 2 leg semi final for a reason ?? if you played it the other way round and lost the first leg 1.0 at home and won the 2nd leg 3.1 away you still get the same result but a different feeling that's how am seeing it tonight, yes its never nice losing to them but they did not win anything and we did

Not arsed mate, we’ve won trophies and played some incredible football under him, but I get the feeling he’s had enough.

I just think we need fresh ideas.

Thought we were all over the shop tactically but still fucking miles better than them even though we were frustrating.

Our finishing was fucking appalling!

But we’re through to the final.
That was absolutely appalling when their defender gifted it to Sterling five yards out and he inexplicably passed it to Silva who totally fucked things up. We really have a phobia about taking first time shots, it's as though we have to get the ball on the goal line to score, infuriating doesn't come in to it.

Pep is not happy. Never throws players under a bus but he looks fookd off.

he needs some better players & we all know who needs to go

yup

Otto needs to be out, and i really struggle with Gundogan (though i get others really like him)

Mahrez has good games and bad ones...tonight was the latter and he was awful

sterling off for a while but we shouldnt be looking to get rid of him (unless we got a ridiculous offer for him and we could use the money to buy two very good players)

It's poor coaching. Nothing else.

the performance got us through but we lost the game

We were at times far superior but it was interpersed by a numerous periods of really poor play where they had possession fro some longer periods of time. We were scrappy and poor

Pep has said plenty of times its how we win not if we win that matters - it was a sub par performance and our level dropped (again) - playing a better team would have seen us lose going to a cup final
I certainly don't doubt that we weren't at our best. Could it have been better? Of course. But some of the hysteria on here (not you) is bordering on delusional.
