United (H) Post Match Thread

People saying it was the right ‘but we just missed chances’ - of course we were gonna miss chances, are best striker was sat on his arse!

Serg starts and we are champions now. Resting him, don’t make me laugh. He nearly had his fucking leg broken!

We have a problem with the system (feels crazy to say that after the season we have had) in that when teams press us, we lose the ball and they break (or play a long ball) we are absolutely wide open at the back. Something that really hasn't been tested all that much this season, until the last week (and the previous time we played Liverpool), is our ability to effectively beat a committed press usually just for a few minutes - and, quite clearly, we are shit at it.

We seem surprised by it, then panic, and then lose any semblance of shape until the ball hits the net. If we just lose the ball through a sloppy pass or good interception everyone switches on to win it back, if we lose the ball through pressure something very different seems to happen in their minds. Definitely a mentality thing for me, and definitely something we need to fix if we want to fulfill this team's true potential.

Still fucking miles better than them, clearly, despite the result.

I thought with Kompany back in defence he would steady things at the back but lately when we lose a goal we fall apart. L'pool in Prem' & CL and today, t
hat's the third time we have collapsed and conceded 3 goal in quick order. Clearly something not right.

Indeed ....I absolutely love Kompany but he needs to be picking the players up when we concede and getting them all to focus 100%. Lapses in concentration have cost us dearly

Embarassing. David Silva and Kompany come out of that with credit, the rest should feel humiliated. Sterling was inexcusably bad. Aguero and De Bruyne definitely needed to come on sooner.

This isn't on Pep, but I feel deeply disappointed by his apparent indifference to this game. I want to look him in the eye and ask him what we were resting players for. The Liverpool game? That's over and he must surely know it.

The team that started the game were 2-0 (should have been more) up, battering the scum and in complete control, so his team selection was working well. I would suggest the mentality of the players played a bigger part in the second half than anything else. My only criticism I would throw at Pep for the game was the timing of the subs.

Can’t believe how many chances we missed. They had 3-4 and scored 3. If we had a striker on we’d have won at a canter.

Got to page 45 before becoming frustrated with the abuse of Pep and the team. Take a step back for a moment - Pep and the team have produced some incredible moments, smashed records, dominated 95% of other teams and are playing football that is the envy of most of the football world.

The 'mistakes' he made yesterday were totally in control of the second placed team in the league. Yes we had a once in a life-time chance to win it against United but we need to stop defining our success based on what we do in our games against them. It's what we did when we were crap. Any bragging rights we would have had are short lived because if our points total doesn't show our complete superiority then nothing will. I had united fans texting - we ruined your night, you won't win it at our expense. If delaying our league title by a couple of games is how they've defined success for their season then that shows how utterly dominant we have been.

This team does crumble a little but yesterday was down to criminal stupidity and to be honest laziness. Letting Pogba jog through midfield and into our box whilst doing nothing about it was criminally stupid. That's not a result of pressure that's just dumb plain and simple. Leaving Herrera stood by himself on the edge of the box was dumb plain and simple.

The reality of being good is that all the crucial games come at once. Maintaining our workrate, discipline, concentration is tough. When you're playing teams who have playing against us as their only priority then it's so tough. So you end up with heart breaking games that all come at once. It's gonna happen again so let's grow some balls and leave the hysteria for when we're not running away with the league and smashing records

Team selection was all wrong for second game in a row, play your best team, win the league and take the feel good factor into the next game.

Chance to win the league against your rivals and Pep lets us down I'm afraid.

Did he fuck - 2-0 up, in total control and should have had at least another couple before half time suggests the team selection was spot on. Inability to hit a barn door from close range and poor officiating cost us that game

Er, isn't that because he was rested but then came on?
