United Post Match Thread

Let's face it. If he didn't honour his contract, what could the club do?

Etihad Stadium Att:54,557 - If Worsley is reading this - Is this our biggest attendance at the Etihad ?. - just wondering.

If we sli out of 4th the clu, rightly or wrongly, could act. I for one hope they do. Txiki till the summer please, he really is under pressure so will do a much better job.

What has happened to David Silva? I thought he was terrible today and I hate to say that as he is a legend and one of my all time favourite players.

Thought Fernandinho had a great game In the centre of defence once MDM went off. Food for thought there for the future.

I can't blame players for being injured or mediocre players for being mediocre (half the team are). What bugs me is the lack of a pragmatic approach. If we all know our defense is weak then don't be stretched and instead play on the counter attack like Leicester. If we know or wingers are weak then play long balls to 2 main runners like Leicester do. A draw today would have been fine, same at Liverpool, against Spurs, against Leicester, against Arsenal, etc.

Hughes was poor, Mancini was poor in the end and Pelligrini is somewhere in between. Pelligrini's only strategy from day 1 was to trust the players. That works up until you have a run of injuries and poor form. A better manager has invested more in the squad so they can cope. He should be shown the door today IMO. Make Kompany caretaker until the summer. Can't be any worse.

Pity Viera is at NYC.

I was there when Sammy Mcillroy scored on his debut against us and I just new Rashford would get one. If they brought on a 12 year old schoolgirl I just know she'd put one in against us.
Where are our heroes?

I thought we outplayed them second half, in fact pretty well after Fernando came on, but that was the criminal decision of the day for me, and it cost us the game. That goal would not have happened with him in front of the back four, and all we needed to do today was not lose, and against that shower of shit we played right into their hands from the kick off, so negligent is correct.

Yet we still did more than enough to win, missing chance after chance, so yes all to blame, but FFS pick the right team to start with.
Maybe so, but you can't honestly believe that we now have anything like the same swashbuckling side that we had a few seasons ago? We have gone backwards. I'm old enough to know where we've been and to not expect too much, but I hope I'm also wise enough to recognise the difference between progression and regression.

Silva ran the show , best player ever 2 wear a blue shirt

Positives Navas worked his balls off again and Aguero if u stay here with us till 2019 I owe u my life

Sure this has already been said but that was gutting today. I had some nerves before the game as I felt the narrative around Rashford was being done to death in the media, but I did not imagine that we would capitulate, get two more injured and see the worst individual defensive display I can remember. I suppose I might be a happy clapper by BM standards, but I am still fucking furious at that. It is at best unprofessional, passionless, and inept. I have tried to support Pellers all season I am done now. He can go and take half the mercenaries making up the team with him. Sorry for the long post -goodnight blues

The depressing thing about yesterday is that no fornicator is in the least surprised.

Yes, but that's the point for me. Recognise this. Be pragmatic. Do the right thing for the greater good. Not the same thing over and over for months and expect anything different to happen. We needed to grind out results for the last month and got none. NONE...!! Diabolical....!!

I like that Navas works his balls off, but why are both he and Sterling incapable of striking a proper shot on goal?
