Has anyone got any idea when the Media might turn on them?

A couple of days ago we had PB's wonderful story of Ferdinand not being allowed on the team coach to Carrow Road when he was all suited and booted and we have now had the list of the non - magnificent seven who Moyes wants to get shut off. We are also hearing the stories of unrest coming from RVP and more than likely Rooney.

The Media seem to be portraying this crisis very lightly and don't seem to be in any rush to dish the dirt or kick a man when he is down. Fortunately, Howard Webb doesn't share this approach and showed little mercy yesterday with some of those awful decisions ! - the sense of karma when Webb turned a deaf ear to Lloris' late, knee high challenge on of all people Ashley Young was in the words of Niall Quinn "stupendous".

Favouritism, squad unrest and a long overdue helping of poor refereeing decisons apart; The squad is nowhere near strong enough. By my (very genorous) reckoning - maybe 8 or 9 players good enough for a top 4 side.

Don't hold your breath on that one, at least not to any significant extent. They're still too big box office for the media to start burning any bridges.

Expect a few light digs from the more independent minded members of the media, but nothing that's going to remotely resemble what would have come to the fore if we'd had a season like united are having, or, for that matter, anything even approaching the level of sneering disdain that we've had to endure at times since the takeover.

In a funny sort of way I'd prefer to leave it that way tbh. I'd much rather deal with the devil I know when it comes to the press and the manner of their reporting on united. It would feel somewhat peculiar if I started to gain any level of respect for those in the media that seek to educate and inform us. It would feel, to me, more than a little fake.

Agreed. The scum have been seen as pivotal to the 'brand' of Premier and Sky for over 20 years now. It'll be a long time before that changes but it's going to be both interesting and cringeworthy listening to them try and cover this decline in the meantime.
I notice they never talk about Everton as in a 'transition.'
