I expected the turnaround to take place slowly over a few years.

From them having a settled squad, winning and not impulse buying to the complete opposite in 8 months or so is incredible.

Love to see where Mata will fit in, because he will want a left sided berth somewhere, either actual wide left or left side of central midfield I'd have thought, so Adnan may well be pushed onto the right.

Looks like when Geo was in the team. Great player in a very average team.

Much as I'd like to see them disappear into the championship or even lower I doubt that will happen. They've still got a few top players and even with how much we're taking the piss out of them their squad is still comfortably better than 50% of the teams in the PL.

If Agent Glazer opens the purse strings they can afford to go out and buy 2-3 top class players, which, if they buy right, will easily give them a top 6 squad and probably top 4. You could argue the current squad is top 6 material (barely). They've got a lot of leeway in their transfer budget after this season for wages and their overall revenue still puts them in the top 4 globally in money terms.

The difficult part for them will be buying the right players and getting in a top class manager who can get the best out of the players. Buying the type of players they need doesn't come cheap and I'm hoping they screw up with a Torres (Chelsea) or Soldado (Spurs) type signing, a couple of them and they won't be much better off.

Regardless, this season is great so far and I hope it continues and we can always hope they make some spectacular flop signings which will really put the pressure on them next season - I'm really hoping they qualify for the Europa via league position and have a season of shit games all over the far reaches of Europe ;-)

If Mata watched last night, I doubt he slept very soundly, and may have booked himself into a clinic this morning.

As to where he will fit in, if he signs, first name on team sheet, is where having watched that comedy show.

Can he play centre half as well ?

So that's 15 million on Zaha, 27 million on Fellani and 37 million on Mata since January. 79 million on top of a championship winning team. also did you see Sky saying the 37 million is a record high for them and showed how many 20+ million players they have bought since early 2000. But of course its us buying the title.
