Probably not as their season won't start in early July.
PL season starts 8th August.
The PL 4th place team goes straight to the CL play-off round and the dates are 18th/19th August and 25th/26th August.
Where it might screw them over is if potential signings won't join unless the CL can be guaranteed. They won't know if they're in the group stages until less than a week before the transfer window closes.
If they have to sell before they buy then they might have to play 2 or 3 PL games, and possibly the play-off games with a weaker squad than they'd like.[/quote

just watched the speech and I'm not just saying this for the sake of calling a Man Utd manager but that was embarrassing, the we were better than Arsenal in FA cup game and better than Chelsea when we lost stuff was cringy, what about Arsenal away in the league when they battered you and you won with 1 shot on target and countless De-Gea saves to get you draws and wins v lower sides ?
now i know no manager is going to mention those things at an end of season awards but don't mention the other stuff to begin with, he really sounds like one of their delusional fans that only sees the red
